GROSS Westinghouse & Schindler Hydraulic Elevators @ Steel Plaza T Station - Pittsburgh, PA

(8-7-20) Here are a bunch of elevators at the Steel Plaza T Station in Pittsburgh, PA. The platform elevators are Westinghouse with VR call buttons, AE buttons inside, and really nice loud bells. The street elevators are Schindler that have MT buttons. Most of these elevators are rather gross as they are also being used as bathrooms. Stay tuned to the end of the video for a bonus escalator ride!

Elevator information: Brands/Company: Schindler and Westinghouse Buttons: Schindler MT and Westinghouse AE Door type: 2 speed sliding left ◀️ and right ▶️ for Westinghouse elevators and center opening for Schindler elevators Number of elevators: 5 Number of floors: 2 for Westinghouse elevators and 3 for Schindler elevators Nice elevators! Epic motors for Westinghouse elevators! People need to stop using the bathroom in elevators! Like I said before people, elevators are NOT bathrooms!

Those sound and look like they're running healthy and strong! Just wish the upkeep was a bit more consistent, and that applies to most metro elevators. Can't catch em all

I think Wood St. is worse in every way. Tbh I think they do minimal maintenance in Steel Plaza for the "high-profile" office workers. Maintenance in Wood St. sometimes seems non-existent, elevators & station itself. The Schindlers here are probably in the best shape because technically those are owned by BNY Mellon for 1 of their buildings (not PRT).

I’ve ridden subway elevators in Pittsburgh a lot, they are generally pretty smelly and nasty and this one is no exception lmao. Wood Street is even worse than this. Although it’s cool to know there are some more Westie’s at the subway stations in the burgh.
