Oh it's pretty to my eyes. Wanted a Purple ever sine I saw one a couple of years ago, but couldn't get it here. Now I can cross the USA border to make it happen. LPYS 006 Purple -
Nice looking piece you got there Mike. I like the look a lot. I do like the way the Bridge pick up sounds but agree with you on the Neck. It does sound a little muddy even to me!
The quilted purple finish is sharp looking. Fit and finish looks real good for a 260 dollar guitar. I agree with you about the pickups. They sound just ok... Sand that neck to a nice satin finish and it'll feel better!😄
Sweet looking guitar,Mike! I thought you'd get the Batwing inlay Firefly model that was available here in Canada. Deep Purple, eh? So, the song ha to be Highway Star! Hsve fun making this one better!
Something a lot of people miss on tuning machines is that you can adjust the tension of the machine by adjusting the screw tension in the Key. Budget guitars forego anything other than a quick basic setup before they leave the factory. When you buy a Premium machine, the majority of the cost is actually in a great setup. If your machines feel stiff, loosen the Key screw a bit.
I just bought one of these off Amazon opened box for $111. Couldn't pass it up for that price . I have a Slip one 50s standard already but wanted a cheap les Paul for taking on the road to play in the motel room I am an over the road truck driver
@@motorcyclemark2889 Mark that was a good buy. Lucky you saw it in time. It'll probably just need the standard little fixes and it's going to be great 😃👍. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe out on those roads.
Hey Mike another great unboxing.Just curios, how man guitars do you own,I think I'm up to 25,do you ever build your own Guitars from scratch? Or do you only buy new and mod and setup?
I have 55. scratch no, but I built 3 different teles back in 2015-16 from parts . First vids on my channel. Go back, it was my baptism into Mcguivering guitars
Hey there Mike, I'm curious if you pulled the pickups to see if they are true humbuckers or dressed-up single coils that some have reported getting? I've seen a number of these had single coils, (you can tell by looking for something blocking the covered set of holes underneath, without having to desolder the shell) but I have yet to hear any of the line noise associated with a single coil. Are you running noise gates on your setup? I hope to have this model in my hands soon for personal review and to add to the wall. I much appreciate your review!
I don't recall if I took the original pickups apart to save the magnets as I often do. I was planning to put the fake Seymour Duncan in there soon as I heard the originals
