Groton Connecticut Civil War monument 

The Civil War monument in Groton, Connecticut is named the Robert A. Gray Monument after the 21st Connecticut Infantry Regiment veteran who bequeathed the memorial to the Groton Monument Association. In 1897 he received the Medal of Honor for his heroism during the mid-May 1864 battle of Drewry’s Bluff in Virginia.
The monument is part of Fort Griswold Battlefield State Park.
