My brain has been pulled out, twisted, kneaded, folded and put back in my head with the expectation that I can continue life as it was before. But I can't, I've had a Grouch psytrance experience.
I've listened a lot of stuff with this same kind of bass patern.. even more minimalistic tracks.. and in boom i hear a lot of it. anyone knows what i might be talking about? I'd love to know what those styles are
This is psytrance, and it relies on ambiance as well as the bass and alien-like synth you hear in the foreground. I've determined that if you want psytrance made into other genres, no one does it better than Infected Mushroom.
in 2014 and 16, all around the camping areas there's someone listening to that. it's usually more barebones than the link i just provided above.. like mainly bass, kick and snares.. and there's a micro/minimal atmosphere in it.. i somehow relate it to trance because of the contexts i listened to it, and somehow reminds me of this more "roomy" beat of this new kind of psy artists (many belong to zenon recs, merkaba music..and so on). i don't want to wait until boom 2018 to have the chance to ask directly to these persons :P i've searched through all genres, i learned new genres (micro house, jackin house, complextro, etc), and still didn't find it.
Decio Silva Neurofunk _might_ be it. It's Hardcore DnB with a bass focus and no melody beyond those two elements. Send me a link of the song you want to know the genre of.
Most prog psy is more minimalist than the other subgenres and has a similar bass rhythm to this track (one note every half beat), just look up different prog psy artists until you find what you want
