Just found your channel and its fascinating stuff.I have a question that maybe you could answer? One of the things I noticed about GEV's was that, well, the 'wing' is the important thing and I was curious is a wing-body design such as the Burnelli wing-fuselage concept would work 'better' for such vehicles? I get that the DARPA suggested twin fuselage design would likely have less overall drag but wonder if a wing-fuselage with it's greater carrying capacity might not be a workable solution. thanks

Thanks muchly! Well.. blended body skimmachines have been suggested before, like the Seabus project, but they have not eventuated. The suggested HW80 howerwing was essentially a lifting body with a tail. The issue with lifting bodies is longitudinal stability. You can make one stable in flight with effort but in GE it gets even harder.

I think it would be practical if they build a seaplane that can land in airport and deliver payload on shorelines.

Indeed.. But they already exist. The Catalina was a legendary seaplane that could land at airports as well as land in water. (www.stuff.co.nz/waikato-times/news/85895917/rare-catalina-makes-a-return-to-taupo) The trick with ground effect is that there are too many things like buildings and humans in the way on land so predominantly takes place above water. Some Russian ekranoplans also skim above large ice flats.

boy it's crazy we could see working prototypes of these things as soon as next year. And if accepted I could see them in mass production by 2027. Hopefully we won't ever need to use them in a full scale war

It would be amazing to see them skim the seas. These projects have the tendency to run behind predictions though..
