In this tutorial, I showed a few methods, of how to work with ground texturing. Dedicated to Richard Burns Rally game files exporting process...
I used Blender v 3.6 (builder.blende...)
RBR Track Addon 0.2.10 ( / discord Track building)
TexTools 1.6.1 (github.com/fra...)
keKit 3.1.4 (ke-code.xyz/sc...)

can you use vertex color as mask in RBR? or do you need to bake before exporting

Yes, RBR supports color masks, just need to export with RBR track exporter in Blender
