Any parent that is worried about what their neighbors think over doing what is best for their child shows how dysfunctional they are as a parent and that they run a dysfunctional home which caused their kids to go off. He clearly doesn't know what he is talking about.
Wow! I always am sooo happy to see Rabbi Dr. Shimon Russel haTzadik speaking! He has totally been the leader for all Rabbis and therapists in this SUGYA! I have tremendous personal hakoras hatov for Rabbi Russel for giving me the first insight on what OTD/KIP'S are all about. Thank you for helping me change my attitude towards my own children and for creating a whole new atmosphere in my home!! You saved my family and probably don't even know me personally! Everyone should listen to Rabbi Russel and learn what it means to raise children with love and respect!!! Thank you!!
One of the best MP episodes. Thank you for bringing Rabbi Russell on to your platform . His message and guidance has and will continue to save so many young people and their families.
I love listening to meaningful people! Thank you for bringing on Rabbi Russel. What an inspiration to see someone who took what he experienced and used it to help others.
Thank you so much. The last few minutes, about not over-expecting from your kids reminds a Vort I heard in the name of the Lubavitcher Rebbe: A woman once said to the Rebbe, I wish I would have a son like you. To which the Rebbe answered: to have a son like me, you need to be a mother like my mother. (I think it says a lot, don't expect more from your child, than you can give them).
Such a beautiful interview! I discovered Rabbi Russell on a video with Rabbi YY Jacobson not long ago and I cannot get enough of hearing his wisdom. I also wish I heard this 38 years ago. But HaShem has His time for everyone to learn what they need to learn. Thank you for bringing on Rabbi Russell!!😊
Thank you Rabbi Russel for bringing to light that each child needs their parents to affirm their unique greatness, to see them, love them& watch them flourish in a safe& secure environment. May it transform our homes& ultimately, our world!!!
I read it when it came out and was wondering why it wasn’t adapted from the original lectures to Chareidim to a larger audience of 8 billion people. I definitely think that alongside this edition marketed exclusively to Chareidi audiences, Shimon Russel should edit the book for mass consumption or start from scratch by giving a dozen or two lectures to secular/general audiences and then having Zalman (or someone else) adapt it into a book. Frum world is too narrow/niche a market to have the true impact on the world that Reb Shimon is capable of.
Is there any way to get in touch with Rabbi Russell? Or someone at Kesher Nafshi to get advice on being proactive with a teen displaying beginnings of disconnection/isolating/rebelling behaviors- it’s not critical (yet)Want to try and avoid heading down the rabbit hole fully- thank you
