i really think they need to tone the raids down a little bit. or atleast when the bugs destroy the structures it should leave an outline of what it destroyed so we can just pick up our broken pieces and instantly place them again without having to remember where we put everything
@@shovkovskyi i understand thier dissapointment and for thier sake i hope they will change there minds on this but to me i dont really care that much about it bieng a new game + exclusive plus it was obvious for me as its too good of an item to just be there in survival but yeah i feel bad for other players
I've built on the pond on the water lilies, there is no raid there, not even flying insects, you can set up ziplines to bring the building stuff from both the upper yard and the other side. And if you plant mushrooms and make a bridge to the water lilies, you would think you gonna be raided, but no. And then you got ton of aphids and such coming around waking around on the lilies, not to mention a nearby juice brick wich can be used to store juice! The final advantage, late game you can build many floors and place a zipline relay that will connect to almost avery high ground in the garden. Its a blast and you can build multiple structure on each water lily and link them with bridges, make water acces to the lab inside your house, etc. Well I stop here, but try it you will love it.!
I built a castle on the water in front of the Undershed. You're safe from ground raids (as long as your base doesn't extend onto the land) and you're safe from air raids because the wasps and mosquitoes attack the 3 nearby endgame mixers instead of your base. Lol. Plus side is you have direct access to everything in the Undershed, mushrooms to make bricks, and a lot of stems and bur weeds nearby and next to the tire and brawny boy bin. It's the second most condensed area to acquire stems. The only downside is the indestructible plants that get in your way of building. I built a pretty big castle that covers the entire pond in front of the Undershed and is taller than the battery that's there so I had to build around the plants but I was able to make it work pretty well.
You're talking about the water right in front of the entrance to the undershed right? Actually my favorite base location is inside the unraidable Can located right there. I didn't know that those mixers attract raid enemies and ignore your base, is that really true? Do they keep attacking them after they are destroyed so you can just ignore the raids? Your option is more suited for most people, but I love the can because I like practicability and I'm not big on decoration. I have enough room to fit all I need while saving on walls. Another nice thing is you can build a zipline outside of the can to the top of the baseball bat and from there you can build a zipline hub without the need to build a big tower yourself.
Yup that is my favorite base spot too. I have a giant mushroom castle right above the entrance to the undershed with a giant zip tower to the entire yard except the BBQ. Raids are so predictable there. Making portal room in the basement where my armory is now.
Same here, me and my friend made a base on the soda can at that spot and did everything on it using the unbreakable weeds as natural stairs and a zip line going to the top of the brawny bin
An alternative to the can base at the pond for me is the root right next to it. You can build a structure out from the tip of the curled root so your base wont touch the ground. I have a three story villa that can't be ground attacked.
For me the best can base is the can that’s partially submerged right before the entrance to the undershed. A few floating platforms and bam! Cozy and secure.
As a big fan of the Hedge Interior as a base location, here's some easier entry points: 1. Go to the far corner with a milk molar. At the 2nd bush trunk to the west (direction of the sandbox), the back of the hedge has no collisions. you can build up into the hedge from that point. It extends a little further, but that spot has a nice convenient surface to build from. You still want a teleporter, since you can't really stop ground raids, but that's your only weak point. The location is that big "room" with the broodmother lair. 2. this one is nice and convenient, but again, not great without teleporters for defense. Go through the Hedge Lab all the way to the exit. on the raised platform. The edge of the rock wall nearest to the house lines up perfectly with a gap in the hedge that gets you up onto the fence. Obviously, with how many spiders are in that side of the hedge, this isn't very safe, but if you just need a temporary bridge up, it is by far the easiest given the stockpile of resources at the end of the lab. Just follow the walkway to a convenient branch that you can build up from into the interior. You are now in an upper section of that same Broodmother room. 3. This one kinda defeats the purpose of not doing the up and around strategy, but it is another alternate entry if, again, you tear down the staircase to keep ground enemies out. At the edge of the upper yard behind the black widow near the castle, you can build up to that same part of the fence from earlier, just a little way back. You can even build into an earlier nook, keeping in mind that the fence is your only foundation. It looks like you have sky access, but there's actually an invisible wall, the only one I've found in the game, which leaves only one exposed area. with lots of leaves to get the ai stuck on.
My base is the wooden pillars fence thing dont know what its called at the oak tree next to the can its just bluid a staircase its safe from ground raids not from air raids its probably the second or third best spot in the game you dont need a floor for most of it
It would be cool if when a full group of 4 people are in a lobby together they should be able to fight the koi fish and it has like insane health. Would be a sick gang fight icl
I built my first base by the sprinkler hedge area. Larva kept spawning inside my base and would kill me. Also the wolf spider would test their luck each night outside of the walls.
I still like can bases the most, very annoyed that the Calvo can on the picnic table doesn't work anymore, too close to the bees with the cranked up aggression.
That hedge base at the end seems far too strenuous to get to/ traverse in for the minor benefit of not being attacked by bugs. You can't even build on anything but the little wood parts. If you're that stressed over being bug raided, just build in a can for practically the same space, and it does not take seven years to reach.
i built one of my bases in one of the pots in the snadbox cuz i thought i'll be unique and they put more cacti inside and one of them being right where my entrance was ant that ruined my favourite base simmilar story with the cutters in the hedge
Teleporters? Yeah gonna skip those if/when they come. Why add those when ziplines and the zip.r exist? 100% devalues most of the traversal methods we've had till now
1. I hope teleporters get available in NG+ for the first time, not before that. 2. I hope the amount of teleporters will be limited, e.g. 6 teleporters max, so choose locations wisely. 3. I hope teleporters will be really, really exepensive to build. -> Let's see if the devs implement them in a smart way in 1.4 and hope it will be perfect right off the bat since 1.4 will be the last update for the game.
Fun Fact: If you build in the Oak Tree Can, you can actually get 3 floors in there. Just make sure that you can place a door to the can. Because if you don't double check and clipping isban issue so you can never place a front door, wasps WILL fly in your base during raids.
The floating can at the western flower bed can be built in with floating foundations. Literally indestructible as nothing can access it. It’s tiny but a great spot.
Timestamps 1. Baseball 0:46 2. Oak tree 2:20 3. Lamp on the pond (can't type pagota) 4:46 4. Can (near the oak tree) 6:27 5. Milk molar bottle (upyard) 8:24 6. Top of the wasp bin 10:03 7. Inside hedge (near house porch) 11:13
I reckon building on (and inside) the Javamatic is a better shout then the brawny boy bin top. No shield bugs, high enough for some zip lines, quicker to build up to, heaps of room. No ground raids, and the air raids are limited if u build inside the beaker, so much space in there
@@Paraly5er I’ve never had ant problems from them, aggro doesn’t reach through the table top unless u build up to the corner back there. They don’t block off too much of the local resource besides a few mushrooms which u can get more of at the undershed entrance a short walk away
Another odd location ive built a great base was way up in the bricks on the side of the Shed wall. Theres lots of small caps inside to build deeper rooms and i made a shanty town along the wall.
Isn't anybody sad it's the last update for grounded? I'm not sure if it means no more balance updates, but I really love this game. I really hope they make grounded 2 one day. Excited to play 1.4.
I built my base in the pagoda and I did want to say something about the way the raids work I figured it out that if you build your base in the pagoda and then you add a few structures on the outside rocks on the tree side the raids will actually start there, which means that flying enemies will be attacking you from over there instead of at your base I think it’s a glitch or something but I’ve never been attacked by any wasps well at that base because of the structures built on the rocks
@@Paraly5er I think it has something to do with what they consider to be your base but if something is considered to be a base and then you start a raid, they will go for that one instead
My fav location for a decent sized base is the flat stepping stone rock after you go up the BBQ area. That big rock that forms one of the steps in the path to the shed. Yes, you can get raided but it's a wide open space and pretty flat. Build with mushroom brick etc and you'll be fine.
Its funny cuz people rly question building a base at the oak tree when rly its genius i have a spiral base going up the whole tree with zip lines in every direction the oak tree is the hub for getting around if u use it right
If it hasnt been fixed, somewhere around the top of the shed is a buildable platform, its hard to get to but i dont think it can be air raided to to how high it is.
I build an elevator over the top of that rock Mountain, near The Black Widow, near the Hedge ... and then mad a Lobby of Ziplines, was extremely usefull
I always build a Great oak tree "tree fort" I start out by collect a bunch of clay, then go to one of the big roots coming off the tree by the lawn lamp and build a make shift tower up to the tree mushrooms. Hop on the mushroom and build off the mushroom so my tree platform ISNT attached to the make shift tower. then I build a clover roof ramp over by the oak tree lab up to my clay platform. If built right.... up should be able to stop 1 quarter clover roof piece short. Hop up to the platform, then build 2 quarter roofs (side by side) off the platform down to the clover roof ramp so NOTHING is attached and nothing can get to my tree fort platform
So glad they added new game plus. I know not loved by everyone. It definitely adds replay ability depending on the way you play, and it seems pretty rewarding although I haven’t experienced it for myself quite yet
Anyone know if the green bugs spawn on NG+ on the bin? Trying to find a good place to build a large base and most other places are either small or Dangerous by being close to the ground for raids.
I honestly did not know that they were adding teleporters to grounded. Obviously, I didn’t watch your stream. I only got like a little snippet Cause I had to do some house chores
Oh wow I have well over a thousand hours in this game and have played for years but didn’t know you could go inside the hedge!! Definitely my next spot that’s for sure
best safespots: starting Baseball and table, outpost no 1 hedge nook, outpost number 2 pond alcove, final base: Table with the bees, the side which is closer to the fence
