I found the same issue. My normal 95 was definitely not on parity with other games. Had mine at 105 then eventually just went 3rd person because it annoyed me.
Wasn't very interested in yet another early access survival game, but damn, this looks very unique and interesting. Glad to see Obsidian doing well even after the Microsoft acquisition.
@@JustSkram it is for hardcore fallout new vegas fans. and seeing as it was nominated for game of the year despite the obsidian team being tight on budget and manpower(before they were acquired by microsoft), it was an awesome game.
@@Gear-pp1io it was a really shallow NV. Let's be real here it was nowhere near the depth of NV. Nominations don't mean much as they are put there by the outlets. Am I glad OW was successful? Hell yeah. Did I think it was on New vegas or KoToR2 levels of good? Hell no.
@@JustSkram never said outer worlds was on the level of nv or kotor. The rpg and speech was more immersive and deep than fallout 4. your choice mattered. even though it was short(because of budget), it was a true rpg game which many gamers wanted after fallout 4 turned more shooter than rpg. it was not truly a AAA game and the devs said it before launch in interviews. i dont know what you expected from this game, maybe you wanted bigger world or longer play time. You need to stop expecting everygame to be a big budget AAA. you can like a game or dislike a game but outer worlds was not a shallow rpg game. it might have lacked in other aspects but in rpg and writing, it was not shallow.
“Yard” in the North American dialect means open field. I think it’s like that because in North America, property sizes are much bigger than in Europe. So wider areas aren’t paved but have grass. A typical North American house has a front yard and a backyard. “Garden” has a very specific meaning in North American English. It’s a planned space specifically made for plants and flowers. Ergo, a yard can have a garden but a garden can’t have a yard.
I Teach ESL and it always annoys me when my students learn from British books that "Garden" is the place in front/behind a home. Sorry kids, a 50 foot area of grass, weeds and 2 trees is not a garden, thats a Yard. Gardens are planned, to display flowers and landscaping or a small area for growing food.

You don't get options in a console port. But... You do get rep to get heat and the more rep you get the more heat you get and the rep the more bank you get. So, there's that.
I heard about the review bombs, but I fell in love with the game. I was telling people that it really had that Saturday morning cartoons feel. I grew up with in the 80s.
I might point out that here in America our schoolyard had grass. Anyway, the typical definition here is that the yard is the entire property around the house, especially the grassy part, and the garden is the little section you grow flowers and maybe vegetables in. A stone yard would probably be called a 'court' here, although they're pretty rare.
After Germany bombed their schools to Flavourtown and back they decided grass inspires too much optimism in their youth, so they paved over their school yards like they paved over their freedom. It sucks to suck, especially when your teeth are falling out and you cant win a war without your colonies.
Love your reviews Mack, I've been a subscriber for a year and you never fail to bring a smile to my face, honest, no nonsense reviews with a great sense of humour
@The Slap Wow. We can't all be living the heady lifestyle of 'The Slap': the ultimate risk taker. By day he is an international man of mystery; by night he is an international man of mystery who posts slight digs on RU-vid. Livin the dream pal.
it's a fucking yard, garden is where you grow your non gmo heirloom purely organic cold pressed no pesticide tomatoes. Keep this shit up and i'm taking your tea. love, your american brothers.
I was having some fun, until I heard some noise behind me at night and saw a huge wolf spider chasing me. I almost screamed like a small child. Oh, and I'm sorry you guys dont have grass around your houses. Yards are doooope Lolol
@@-hasamastersdegreeinwumbol8565 It comes from the Latin Zeta which I think came from the Greek Zeta. Zee(American) = Zed(English) = Zeta(Latin/Spanish) = Z
Dictionary: Garden - "a small piece of ground used to grow vegetables, fruit, herbs, or flowers." Yard - "the grounds immediately surrounding a house that are usually covered with grass" Sorry Mack, the Brits got it wrong this time.
@@WorthABuyreviews this nutta keeps eating them every night while chatting on ps4 and then complaining he's unwell. Also cleaning kitchens at 2am due to sugar overdose :D
@@Conqueeftadori Yard is the outside property. Lawn is the grass that you can do activities on. Garden is an area dedicated to growing plants for food or decoration. You wouldn't play football on the garden. You would on the lawn. the lawn and the garden and the patio are all in the yard.
I frickin' love this game.Don't be fooled by the cartoony graphics, it's actually beautiful and scary :D You can install the game wherever you want just fyi, and anyone who uses xbox game pass, which is fantastic, needs an xbox account. I thought most people own an xbox once in their lives
Who would have thought that a bastardised American dictionary has the American definition. Quality research there. Cambridge Dictionary (real actual English): _a small space surrounded by walls at the back of a house, usually with a _*_hard surface_*
As an Aussie I disagree with you both. A yard can be a hard surface or grass. All that matters is it is fenced and open not roofed. A garden is the beds where you plant the flowers, trees, vegetables etc
@@bradleythompson5531 Aussies and Americans are borrowing the English language, so any words or definitions you mess up, as well as all those incorrect American spellings and pronunciations are automatically wrong. There's only British English and then there's illiterate people/countries who can't speak English correctly :)
My favourite part of your reviews are your honest rants. Because I feel like your channelling the way I feel and think of a lot of titles & issues. If I have not played the title is just plain entertaining. I love how you don't dance around the point and give it to us bluntly. Plus the swearing makes it funny. Please never change if your channel gets to 10 million. Always be super honest, blunt, speak your mind & do not sensor the swearing. Now days a bit of swearing is great since everything is so damn pc.
I consistently watch your videos before purchasing games. Ultimately you sometimes dissapoint me, but for all of the right reasons. Sometimes i'll want a game and you'll talk me out of it, other times you'll introduce me to titles I never even considered. Please keep doing what you do, and wish me luck in this tough YT grind.
I've put 16 hours into it already, Could explore plenty more but I'm having fun with the base building and defending it from the insect raiders. For early access it feels and looks great. It has a very bright future :) Great review
Garden is where flowers or vegetables grow...Yard and lawn are the same thing, we say 'school yard' for both the concrete or grass area. Just like the Prison Yard.
Me and my buddy had a blast playing this yesterday, didnt run into one bug or anything that was game breaking. Has enough content to be fun for around 8 hours of gameplay.
Not sure how your back yard looks but ours in the US are covered in grass, no concrete. Unless you are in AZ, then it's the beach without water. You don't mow your concrete and you don't mow your garden, you mow your grass in your yard. Your garden is a small fenced off patch of dirt where your flowers grow, you don't mow your flowers.
The worlds most catchy song. "It's a console port, it's a console port, you don't get settings in a console port." Had to give you a big thumbs up just for that Mac.
I played for about 40 minutes, running around looking for water and didn't know about the dew when i ran into a spider. I don't think I've ever screamed so loud in my life.
Need funnel webs and trap door spiders in this. So you're walking along on your merry way harvesting grass when all of a sudden you're stuck and Bam! Out of nowhere a big spider pulls you into its lair and wraps you up. You then get a timer to free yourself or for your co-op player/s to free you before the spider comes back for fang time :D
Lol, the garden vs. yard thing had me laughing hysterically. I'm American, and we had a front yard, side yard, and back yard, all grass covered. The garden, to everyone here that I know state-side, is a manicured area (possibly in the corner of the yard or something) which is carefully landscaped to meet a certain aesthetic (Japanese garden, etc.) or to serve a specific functional purpose (such as an herb or vegetable garden). I didn't even know Europeans used terminology differently until this video started :) Then again, we're talking about a language where we drive on parkway and park on a driveway... so there's that...
A yard is the outside property. Your yard may contain a lawn, patio, court, flowerbed, garden, or orchard. A garden is an area dedicated to growing plants for either food or decoration. You could play football on a lawn. If you played football in your garden your mom will paddle ya.
Once you set up your Microsoft game through gamepass you have a drop down for your install location for all future games. You have to set up steam too. Also in the United States a garden is where you plant your carrots and tomatoes. Thanks for another great review.
It's not bad at all. I played all night and my weapon still has half durability. Food and water isn't too bad with the building options that give you access to more food and water. This was on Medium difficulty.
I literally was looking at this one on steam store an hour ago after work and looked for your review 🤣 Didn’t see it. Didn’t buy it. And like magic... now the review appears! Talk about timing. Perfect.
So basically Toy Story - Garden adventures. Jokes aside it’s true that the game can be quiet scary but so did the toy story viewer generation I guess. I remember seeing the grass splitting in the distance meaning something came towards me. I’ve never ran so fast in a game I believe. It does have its negatives sides like the Xbox account aspects but then again it’s part of those Microsoft games ported on Pc.
For those on the fence, it might be worth noting that the devs have said they plan to gradually increase the price for the game as they add more content. (Check the dev comments on the game's Steam store page). So, if you think you'll get it at some point, might as well do it now.
Having to log into Microsoft to play multiplayer doesn’t mean the game deserves a bad rating; that one tiny inconvenience doesn’t encapsulate the game. Not that that’s what you stated or believe here, I’m just addressing it. Good game for early access, genuinely. Had zero issues with multiplayer.
When I played the demo, I felt like there was an end that you would reach, and then it would be over or there would be another level or something. Was hoping that wasn't the case, and that you can just keep surviving and if anything, the map would just get larger. Kinda hoped you could make your own character too.
Am glad am not the only one that jumped I'm not even scared of spiders it just the way they come after you and the sound they make litterly shit me self Also I love how u build a base where I build mine only difference is I build right around that entire thing
The virgin grounded: "guyz, you can turn off the spoders if dey too scawy :(" The Chad edf: "MURDER MILLIONS OF BUILDING SIZE SPIDERS WITH YOUR BIG ASS GUNS !!!!"
Microsoft Store does suck, but it using an Xbox account lets me play with my console-playing friends. That's important enough to me to not complain about having to hit 1 extra button when launching the game. Can't expect Steam drones to understand this concept though as they don't have real life friends. In case you don't know what that is, it's the place where you find people that actually use consoles. Getting a lot of crashing on the PC version. Also the PC version lets you customize all controls and has a push to talk feature. That's a little better than the bare minimum console port.
If you climb the tree it gets all arse tingly because it feels incredibly high being 30cm off the ground... oh and what? You can get spiders in the tree chasing you? Shatting Ducks indeed.
PSA for anyone interested. No need to (ever) use the MS store. Use the Xbox App. And like Steam, a pop-up will appear asking what drive you want to use.
If Mack prevents you from spending 60 dollars on even one bad game, you can spend that and get Game Pass for PC for a whole year. I've had it since it's release and while it's still in Beta, it's come a long way. It takes a bit of getting used to but if you use the Xbox Game Pass app in Windows you can set it so it asks you which drive you want to install into every time you download a game or set a default. Not only do you get access to any Microsoft published titles including the upcoming Series X for 5 USD a month but you also get many other games.
actually we call them BACKYARds! we don't call anything a YARD exceot maybe a LOT! LOTS can be any large space so terrain doesn't matter, dirt concrete, poop, whatever. looks fun lol
