Put on ant armor and solider ants won't attack you in the anthill like doing this so I can craft bombs and in the anthill has ant eggs to make said bombs
Ur super underrated....like to put soo much effort into video's that gets about 20k views each, is really impressive so keep up the good work.... U'll definitely hit 1M in 2021 if you keep going :D
Anyone else think “firefly armor” that illuminates the area around you would be a cool thing that could be added to the game? Thumbs up so people can see this!
I got the game today with low expectations and I didn’t think it would have much content or things to do but WOW I WAS WRONG! This game is super fun I played it for like 6 hours with 4 friends. Even though it’s in early access this game still feels full and there’s a lot of stuff to do and so many catchable items. And this game is surprisingly scary, in the dark the game has a super dark atmosphere with intense music and heavy fog and it’s really easy to get jump scared
This is exactly what’s winning over people. Game started out slow, people has low expectations, but what they got was an incredibly polished game. Is it limited by content, yes, but it’s a clean Early Access game with a lot more to come! Glad you’re enjoying it 😉
The thing about this game is that if you want to build a big house/fortress then it takes hours to collect everything if you are with 2 people. My house is hovering over the pond by the oak tree and it’s a two story house. Took me and my friend like 6 hours or more to finish.
I made my second base on top of the juice box, it's really efficient for 1: keeping all bugs except gnats away, 2: Birdseye view and 3: liquid and food :)
I feel like you should have mentioned the importance of blocking while fighting spiders. From my experience playing the game I was always inclined to run away and back away from spiders and other large insects but the best way to fight them is usually to get up in their face and time your blocking.
Also: Thistle comes from the purple flowers. I’ve seen a few where all the dry grass is. You can harvest over 100 from a single plant. Used for arrows and other important things
Tip I've found: You can lure spiders to a tiny pond, that's right near the controller for the lasers. Stand by the entrance and when the spider is going to attack, jump into the water to lure it in. Once the spider is in the water, it can't get out so kill it with arrows. This also works with rocks as well. If you have a little patience, try to get the spiders to do a lunge attack to land on top of the rock. It seems like if they're on rocks/ponds, they automatically just freeze and you can cheese them to death.
Hey everyone. I had the idea of being able to TAME bugs. Ladybugs to get around. Ants to help you carry tons of wood and grass. Saddles depending on progress, stable walls you can craft as well, bait, darts or maybe a certain type of weapon to help you tame. I even heard someone mention a device to help you talk to certain insects. I don’t know how to get this idea to developers but this would be so cool and fun.
Supposedly they will be adding that to the lower level ants at some point. They haven't added the bees yet which is a shame Because I was really excited about them
@@thembutton2226 no offence.. But ur a douche... You could take any game mechanic and be like "um excuse me that's already in so-and-so game". Does that mean there's no value in suggesting similar mechanics be in other games? No. This game would benefit from taming insects just as much as ark benefits from taming Dinos. You are just a douche that felt the need to make some fuckin passive aggressive comment for literally no reason.
no, no, no. Soldiers ants are very easy to kill once you know their pattern. Always block the 1st attack when you encounter one. The soldier always take a step back before striking (at 3:01 the ant does it). So all you have to do is just before, move to the right 2 steps and since it can't stop it's attack animation, it will strike at your previous location. Now you do 3-4 hits. It will then turn to face you, when you see its about to strike again, move 2 step left, it will miss again and you get your 3-4 shot in. Repeat until it's dead. If you face 2 of them, just keep moving in circle around them and they will never strike you as their attack animation is too long and keep striking where you are no longer standing. But the easiest remain the fact you can make an ant armor and while wearing it all ants will simply ignore you.
If you see a ladybug near an open, accessible soda can- you can cheese the kill being half in and half out of the can. Drag it to the entrance, once it’s close let it rear up for an attack n move into the can. It’ll face left or right and keep its aggro. So it won’t run and return to full health and it’s attack don’t hit you. If you need sleeping pit stops you can actually have 3 walls wide x 2 walls high blockage in that can too so not a bad place to set up through the night.
I saw this in a game informer afew months back and thought it looked dumb.(i was surprised obsidian made it.) My partner just got an Xbox one so I bought the game pass on my pc. I figured we could play sea of thieves together. However, they saw grounded and figured we should give it a shot; being one of the few cross plat games. Boy was I wrong about this game. I've been so addicted. It's alittle buggie but the graphics are great and its a breath of fresh air from other survival titles. Good "quests" and oddly charming. I recommend getting some pals together and giving it a shot.
You can also get the ant leg bat thingy without crafting it, its near wear the berries are i think its called the flood but you’ll see a fountain and theres a hole in the wall somewhere
That is a ROTTEN Ant Club and not as good as the crafted version, but can be analyzed for some Raw Science.. I found it too (technically my friend I was playing with) and it looks like some sort of ant cult was going on there..
@@keih8059 Stamina works better for fights, especially with the ant club. Grub armour isn't bad, but neither is the bee gear. Just make sure you have plenty of torches.
My daughter and myself just started our first playthrough on normal and we made it 3 in game days. Night was super scary and gave us many laughs. All these tips will help next time we jump back online. Thanks for the video!
Hiding in an analyzer tent is a good way to survive a Wolf Spider attack. Seems after a while it will lose interest and go back to whatever hole it crawled out of.
In my experience with this game, I must say. It’s really something. But what I struggle with the most is the map. I get lost really quick and get confused and end up dying
3:57 OMG EXACTLY WHERE I BUILT MY BASE😃😃😃😃 ppl said I’m crazy cause of the spider but I feel it’s the most perfect place. It’s high up it has every resource you need and it’s in a great location in reference to BURGL.
@@Vzwii With the orb spider's, of you stay close to them and wait till they start an attack animation just side step/sprint around it. You can get a few hits in. Ant mace is best weapon for it, as it stuns quite often.
Are they playing on Mild? Cus I’m on medium and I have an ant club and I don’t stun, also soldier ants have a lot more health and so do ladybugs, prob any other bug. Just asking
Also you could get ant Armour to just walk through the ant will as when you where full ant Armour all ants even soilder ants won’t attack you unless you attack them first.
Sleep is key for early players. Make a lean to up off the ground by a analyzer, so you can reset it by sleeping. You scan more items if need be. This also works with the spinning wheel to make silk string/crude rope faster. I would recommend making more than one spinning wheel so that you can multiply the amount of each material you're making. Ps, if you can't get inside the mint box because this game is still super buggy, make a clay ramp and adjust it to where the top of the ramp meets the lip of the mint box lids opening. Crouch and move to the left and you're in. Hope this is helpful 🙂
A very useful tip is if you have a full set of ant armor on the soldier ants and worker ants won’t attack unless you do so you can get the rotten bee armor easily
the Humant buff from wearing all ant armour makes it so they dont go agro on you, can walk around the ant hill like mary poppins skipping through the tulips.
for the ant club, you can head over to the hedge and on the far back wall near the lab entrance there is a cave full of ant heads and a rotten ant club.
I have actually some tips too. Let's see (PS: I play on the Whoa! difficulty, where Ladybugs instakill you, Spiders instakill you, BOMBARDIER BEETLES can kill you and you don't even understand what happened) - Wearing the full set of the Ant's Armor makes the Soldier Ants don't attack you on sight. Still, if you attack any ant close to it, everyone is going to attack you. - The Perfect Block is your best weapon. Perfect blocking is when you block right in time of the enemy's attack land. It will do a small amount of Stun Damage and you will not take damage at all. *PERFECT BLOCKING STILL DAMAGE YOUR ARMOR*. Getting the timing of the biggest bugs (Ladybugs, Spiders and even Bombardiers) is tricky at the beggining, but now I manage to run and do a 180º perfect block on Spiders and keep running. - A good EARLY GAME farm of STINKY BUGS is next to the Anthill by the West. You can craft tons of arrows (farm some Law Mites and pick up those thorns from plants), go to the spot, shoot an arrow on a Stinky Bug and run. Jump to the other side of a little trench and the Stink Bug will stop there looking at you with its bad face. Rain arrows on him. Kill it. Take your arrows back, repeat the process. - THE MINT MALLET (best weapon of the game so far, tier 3). You can found the Ice Caps Breath mint case next to the Strange Machine. You can break open the case's cover with a Hammer, but to harvest the Mint Chunk you will need a Insect Hammer. (its pretty late game, but worth the rush). - A good way to kill Bombardiers and even Spiders (maybe Stinky Bugs too, never tested). The worst way I've learned that, if you make one of these bugs upset and you are out of its reach, it will run away or, if there's something you crafted nearby, it will try to destroy it. You can actually buid a Workbench (for example, it's what a accidentally used) next to a rock that you can climb in and the insect can't. Aggro it right next to the construction and jump on the rock. It'll right away try to destroy your Workbench (wich can take a good amount of damage), then you just stand there and shoot it to death. Safe and easy. I would try some more robust constructions, like the fortified walls that you can get the recipe for 5000 raw sciences, or even build more things (3x workbenches, for example). -You can throw rocks at Blueberries to make them fall (aiming straight up makes the rock go in a stright line, easier to aim) and you don't need to hit its "cable" on top. NOW SOME IDEAS THAT I'VE NEVER TRIED, BUT I THINK THAT CAN WORK - KILL THE SOLDIER ANTS ARMY INSIDE THE ANTHILL: You can go there with the ant's armor full set. There are some spots infested with Soldier Ants, one of these (next to one piece of the Bee's Armor) have a little platform, that they can't get in. You can craft some bombs, or even TONS AND TONS AND TONS of arrows (poisonous if you can manage to farm Spiders) and simply shoot them off. I would build a Plant Lamp to help with the dark (or you can max the Gamma in the settings :p) .Obs: The Insect Bow is better and pretty easy to fix (2x spider silk).
I live in a drain close to where some stink bugs and wolf spiders live but the drain leads to an underwater cave no bugs can get you there and you can set up everything that makes a home except the bed
Advance tips: scan everything early on that you can carry or get your hands on Make lean too, cooking sticks, and container and mark on map about 300cm in between your travels to save respawns and farm easier Make home base, water containers under juice box and make a water maker Make acorn armor and weevle shield first go for ants and mosquitos first to make ant club and mosquito sword early on (lv2 weapons) Make web spinning wheel Make a smithing station early and upgrade ant club and mosquito sword to lv5 (store lots of quartzite) Ride ladybugs to lure out spiders and bait spiders to attack lady bug, finish off winner and collect your spoils to craft lady bug armor and spider armor early on Max out mutations, utilize mutations when fighting bugs or building Craft lv2 hammer for molars
built a base around the boot print next to the machine at the start, build walls. around that area. haven't had any break ins and you can use the boot print to store grass or stems :D
a good place to set up a base is the machine at spawn its really good its next to an ant hill and an analyser and juice box its also easy to defend from attacks
I've been playing since it came out and I've always worked by The motto work smarter not harder if you ever have trouble killing ladybugs trying snacking some ants then hide behind the ladybug or any other available bug once they try to act you they'll hit the lady bug aggro it an distract it/help you kill while also weakening the secondary bug you've now lured for anyone having a hard time with spiders or ladybugs
hey, ladybugs can help with orb weavers too. you can jump onto the lady bugs and block the orbs attack, and jump off the ladybug right as the ladybug attacks the orb. the ladybug will (typically) win and can regenerate its health back in case you have more than one spider to try that on. the reason i say orbs and not spiders is because a wolf spider makes a ladybug look like a aphid.
Tip for newer players is dig up every grub you come across, mine every quartzite you know of, chop up every berry and pupa you see because you're gonna need those resources above everything else, especially once you build up your arsenal of weapons/armor that way you can upgrade them to the next level (s). And DO NOT build a base on the ground, especially with the bugs strike back update. Land bases get the worst of the raids as any kind of bug can wreck it so if you build it up high, that eliminates like 90% of those bugs. All you have to worry about then are bees and mosquitos, both of which are weak AF.
Not sure if it was just a one time glitch, but if you're able to get a spider to chase you, have it follow you into the respawn location on top of that case thing. You'll then be able to kill it without it attacking you or running away. Let me know if it works for you! 😊
I had an instance where a spider tried to follow me into one of the field stations and got stuck in the doorway so I killed it without it hurting me with my back against the the wall.
You can change the controller keybindings in the game options. Using the wheel and mapping my primary weapon 1 (up) and tool I am using on 5 (Down) while mapping my quick heal shakes on 3 (Right) and 7 (Left) work fin for me. I have read people mapping specific hot buttons on the left and right dpad so they have a quick select.
I would recommend getting acorn armor as early as possible. It really helps out early game. I started a new world with my friend, who played with me on our first world, and two other friends. Within 3 hours we almost had an Insect Axe. Using just acorn armor and spiked sprigs for most of it. What held us back was we couldn’t find a Ladybug anywhere. Anybody know if Ladybugs are bugged and just don’t spawn after sleeping the night away many times? Within one daytime session we went to the berry tree and back with no Ladybugs to be seen. The base we made is by the mysterious device and no ladybugs were near there despite that seeming to be a hotspot area for them to spawn.
I made my base literally at the first station, right next to the pond and I do happen to see a lady bug from time to time. When I wake up they should appear or more during the mid day next to the controller just wondering around. Check out the Dry Grass at night. Scary and a bit tough but I stumbled upon Ants fighting a lady bug and killed it with Ant armor to avoid Soldiers.
Love this game so much just the idea of being small in your backyard like 😍 My question is how do u put the crafting labels cause all I see is the pictures on top. How can I add the label on the crafting page??? Thank u
If you want a safe way to explore ant hills or to grab the bee armour, craft yourself a full set of ant armour and they won't attack you. Very helpful as I was getting lost looking for the bee armour.
Okay did you know that you can place a marker on your storage containers just like you can with the trail markers? If you open the inventory of any storage container there is an option to customize the marker, I play on PC and the button is "F". It has a very low spawn distance so it won't mess with your trail markers or clutter up your screen. I find it handy for organization. Edit: I was doing some testing and the icons spawn in around 10cm away.
Super helpful vid. Something I don't think was brought up is if you wear full ant armor then soldier ants are docile 😊 if that was addressed already then my b
I set up a base by the pond with grass walls and I've been playing for a long time now and haven't had very many issues..... So I'm not sure if that tip you gave really matters probably depends on what probably depends on where you place your base rather than what it's made out of.
Yeah I'm trynna figure out how to handle wolf spiders without getting them stuck. They're tough cookies even with a full group. Also every set of armour comes with a passive if you were the full set. Almost all if not all
I didn't care for this game at first. But the more I played it the more I like it. My big problem is them spawning spiders in top of me, plants growing through my shelter, and it randomly deleted my saved game.
If you're having trouble with spiders, wait until there's a ladybug nearby, then aggro the spider. Get positioned so the ladybug is between you and the spider so the lunge attack hits the ladybug, and it'll wreck the spider and you can safely collect the parts.
Should equipped items and armor really sit in the backpack still? Thats alot of potential inventory room. Guess you couldnt Quick-pickup your dead body loot but there could be a better way
If you want to travel around ant caves without any problems, all 3 (hat, body guard and leg guard) armor must be made of ant parts. Then the ants will ignore you if you ignore them
I just yesterday got into this game. It has been weird. I find myself running around randomly, not knowing where to go. Randomly finding certain things. I didn't know anything about this game. I kept running into spiders and dying. I still haven't been able to kill one.
I got so much armor and equipment on one multiplayer game I made and now when I try loading into the game it starts to load then kicks me out to Xbox home
@@logamon1756 if I could post a picture here, I would show you the base I have built on it. But to build on it you need to use the stick leaning on the ball to climb up on top, then use scaffolding to make a building base and start putting down floors.
3:40 WTF I have the same base at ground level since day 1, it's been 45 in-game days since and it has not even the slightest beginning of a scratch. Not even trying to protect it with fences or anything. Does it comes from an update of the game after the release of the video ?
The first thing I did was grab a pebble looked for the biggest baddest ant I could find and wack it on the head six times I quickly learned that was a mistake
Why fight the Ants to get the Rotten Bee Armour when you can make Ant armour and walk right in that’s what I did oh and don’t forget to bring a hammer to get the Quartzite which is use to repair weapons
A lot of these tips have been nerfed by the Hot and Hazy patch. Juice is no longer a good source of water and the ant club has been slowed down and uses a ton of stamina. Still a good weapon, but not as OP as it was.
