Why do dumbasses still assume everything modern has assists? It's only a few classes like GT3 that have them, and besides, making a better differential is way more important than some fucking TC in rallying.
Traction control and other electronics make modern WRC faster, Group B was just sheer skills and courage and drama and politically incorrect mayhem. I miss it
Cael Jackson group b cars weren't all that fast if they weren't going straight ahead. the fans are the biggest reason why it was banned, they caused a massive amount of accidents. the biggest non crowd related incident to the banning of group b was henri torvinen and segio cresto in corsica. no crowd control was the main problem though
And NASCAR. Until '87, they just goed nuts in a performance way. Just, they could go as fast (in top speed) as a F1 car of the same time, with nearly half the power, and the double of weight. In a car. That you could buy.
@@HirokaAkita no NASCAR was for the mentally impaired What else explains how they got people to get into a 800 horsepower plastic tube with dozens of other maniacs around
Hirouka Akita formula one is about acceleration, anyone can drive fast in a straight line, it‘s when you throw corners into the mix does it become skill. And not just two big sweeping bends
Actually i think 037 was the best because It beated the quattro ( considering that the quattro was 4x4 while the 037 was RWD) But also the lancia S4 was fucking great. Even Better thank the Audi
@@davideb.4290 Rear drive rocks and yes, the 037 while being older could still fight well on tarmac but it lagged behind on loose gravel. Quattro was good, then came the S4. So good it ended the sport lmfaoo 205 was good too when it first appeared. Considered it's older and smaller engine !
testorsterone levels back then where through the roof i dont care yes it was dangerous but humans are made to go over the top thats what makes us so special. nowdays everything is save and forced to a common ground thats we we struggle so much to find any kind of fullfillment in our heavy moderated world.
Jesus saves from hell, those who accept Him as their only saviour and Lord over their lives, and who truly want to turn away from sinning on purpose and obey God's commandments :)
This is honestly my favourite RU-vid video, I really mean it. It captures everything that was so great about rallye at the time perfectly. My love for cars, my love for 80's music and all of that put together so beautifully - the cuts, the awesome shots, just everything. You have my honest gratitude for creating this.
+Ian Fairbanks If that "Tech" is used... It wouldn't be Group B anymore. Group B is insane, and the drivers are heroes. And they are heroes because of the vehicles they drive are BEASTS. Putting Electronic Driver-Aids on top of them will make them as docile as the current WRC cars... It wouldn't ever be the same.
"Group B" + "we have the tech to control them now!" = WRC. Yes bring back group B but dont put tech on them put in the crazy people how goes to the middle of the road take selfie
Sometimes, when I'm driving fast on the street, I think to my self: "You need skills to go fast, but you also need balls" Those guys had more BALLS than skill and that's saying something cause they were really that good.
Never forget, Walter Rohrl while driving a fucking Opel, beat Hannu Mikkola, Michele Mouton and Stig Blomqvist all of whom drove Quattros to the title in 1982. The best driver of the 80s without question.
The pure fact, these men drive faster than anyone has ever driven on gravel is a huge accomplishment. This fast on roads where you cant see ahead is at the same time extremely dangerous but rewarding too. Eyes and ears both do the work.
Todays rally is faster than this but for these cars the lack of any assist systems its just craxy how fast they were going for their time maybe not the fastest but its just craxyyyy
Cars were doing weird ass flips here and there, engines combusting in flames due to the ridiculous amount of power that was being forced out, and bruddas dying. Group B was dirty.
Lord Vader either way, flinging yourself around a mountain track on any car at 90mph+ is something only people with balls do. wrc and group b are both for men, but either way classifying it as for boys and for men is just plain stupid
This was straight up beautiful, there's literally no other way to explain it. The atmosphere and suspense from the intro just put a feeling of how fast these cars were. Well Done Man!
This is hands down the best video I've seen on RU-vid since ages. Is it normal I had chills during the whole thing? And that ending... just perfect, with the engine sounds... very well done. Good work
Hi iam a 2000's Kid........and for some reason i wish i would have been born in the mid to late 60's, so i could have had expierienced the 70's, 80's, and 90's. i also miss so many things from the early to mid 2000's, and everytime i asked someone what it was like back then no one really could give me a clear picture of these amazing decades. I think a part of the reason why i want to find out more about these wonderfull decades is the golden era of JDM, from the late 80's to the early 2000's. Iam a huge JDM fan, to me it sounds odd wanting to own a japanese sportscar from the 90's and not knowing the history behind the car and the decade. *Please correct me* if i made any errors, iam sure i made ones. Also iam german and still learning english, and we all know how "good" germans can speak english... I expierience this A LOT in germany, for example asking for a translation from english to german, okay i admit mostly old people can't speak or understand english, but to me it's rediculous that in the 21'st century there are still countries that don't speak english as a second language.
>put a woman competing with men >does as good as or better than the men >put women competing with women only >never does good I think we shouldve been putting them together instead of making a sport solely just for women
Love how this shows the suspension of sanity for almost everything, the cars, the drivers and co-drivers, the crowds, the tracks, the camera crew and the helicopter and planes!
Bruh I was literally just re-watching Jeremy's segment on Group B from the Grand Tour and for some reason I wanted to listen to Blondie's Call me song. So I search the song and this video is second on the list - I was like wtf, didn't I write Blondie - Call me? Did I just had a brainfart? Then I realized that in fact the search was correct but some great person decided to make a tribute to the legendary Group B using a legendary song. Nice.
Bro same situation dudeee i watched jeremies lancia vs quattro. Few days later i wasnted to listen to some 80s classics - blondie only to come across this video when someone was talking abt a group b video in blondies mv. Best video ever made me cry ngl
