2006 Asian Game was the last time Taufik and Lin Dan played on the same level. After that it's just one sided massacre.

@911chinkie I love both Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei's game...But honestly, my opinion, Lin Dan and Taufik are both the talented badminton players especially Lin Dan. Taufik has talent, however he doesn't persist as much as Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei. No matter how great a talent is, without determination and persistence, that's it. :) But, no matter what, Taufik still made history with his greatest powerful backhand smash. Taufik's mighty backhand is the only element, Lin Dan couldn't beat that.

i still dont understand why people say taufik is the most natural player, Lin Dan and Chong Wei are the most natural players thats why they can keep their form for soo long and still be on top of their game after so long.

What a waste, if Taufik wasn't lured too much by the wealth given by Indonesia government after he won the 2004 Olympic Gold, I strongly believe, if Taufik persists as much as Lin Dan and LCW, Taufik would be the player that could be on par with Lin Dan. I've seen how powerful Taufik's backhand and forehand when he was at his top form. It was such an advantage to be strong at both forehand & backhand. I've seen Taufik did a superb powerful backhand jumping smash that Lin Dan hasn't done before

Usually, a player or an athlete is called 'natural' if they rely much on their 'sense' or 'instinct' or whatever it is... Their play is not 'ruled' by the training they received from coach or school. Often, but not always, natural player shows fancy technique(s) that's not taught by coach or anyone else.. They gained or discovered those by themself. In football, an extreme example of this kind of player is Ronaldinho.. :)

Im a very big fan of Taufik, but the way they keep complimenting Taufik when he creates a shot that Lin Dan pulls off multiple times, is actually a testament to Lin Dan - he does the extraordinary so often, everyone has just gotten so used to see him do it that they dont have anything to comment on. He just produces the good on-court consistently, its just expected of him now.

Naa I disgree. LCW works super hard and Lin Dan is a mix of Taufik and LCW. Consider that Taufik is quite a bit older and less fit than both of them, the fact that he can still compete is testament to him relying on his natural ability. He won his first super series event when he was 16... that's something neither LCW or Lin Dan can say.

@ChyeHengTay Imagine, Lin Dan was so close to the shuttlecocks, and obviously he didn't expect that strong backhand return...I really wish Taufik could regain his best form, then the badminton would be more interesting with an additional great player..

from amateur (me)opinion lindan & lcw aren't as talented or natural as taufik, both of them can keep their form because they train really hard,just see their body are muscular unlike taufik,also taufik playing style are beautiful ,adding with his skill of backhand ,that's why they call it natural,unlike LD who are famous of intimidating aura,speedy& power ,i can't call it natural,it's a result of hard work to bring it to the highest level i also agree with Chye Heng~

紅のモン MON LIN "We were all created equal" so the shit like Taufuck born with superior gene is not the statue for the mediocre to aim for. Lin Dan or Lee Chong Wei on the other hand is the statue of human's ability exceeding limit through hard work and passion. That what I call inspiration.

The only thing That makes Taufik Exceptional is his Backhand. but Smash, Anticipation and court.movement? I will pick Lindan. Hidayat only dominated in backhand while the rest is owned by Lindan. Unpredictable powerful smash. Courtmovement Foot movement. name it. and his Game is Unpredictable. unlike Hidayat uses the same from day 1

Taufik is great, but these commentators... come on. Put things in context. They were going on and on and on about Taufik and how great he was and meanwhile, standing opposite him was the greatest ever, and he was hitting one brilliant shot after another to build up a 6-0 lead, and not a word from them. Every time Taufik plays this guy, listening to them you’d think Taufik is THE legend. If Taufik was playing any other player, I’d appreciate that sentiment, but not against this guy.

Lin Dan mah emang konsisten sih,staminanya kuat juga,buktinya tahun 2018 umur Lin Dan udh umur 34-35 tahun masih bisa nembus final all england,tahun 2017 juga Lin Dan dengan umur 33-34 tahun masih bisa nembus final kejuaraan dunia,gk banyak pebulu tangkis tunggal putra umur 30an masih kuat staminanya Dan konsisten di level tertinggi terus
