I love how thorough this video is thanks. I'm so glad EF added 30 somethings to their age limit now because I'm in my 30s, haven't been out of the US yet and this is something I'm wanting to do and based on reviews it seems most people on EF are mature and the other travel trip websites all seem a bit too wild for my liking. I also don't want to do all ages trips because those mostly seem like 50+ totally not my cup of tea plus 20 and 30 somethings I don't notice much difference lol I'm friends with people in their 20s and we never realize the age difference. If I get to go it'll seriously change my life!!!!
This is a great video. Just got back from my first EF trip and I’m looking at doing another, but wanted to hear if contiki would be better. Based on what you said i think I’ll definitely stick with EF because we had a great experience and now we have the repeat traveler discount. Thanks for the info!
I’ve done that trip. It’s one of my favorite! I did it after Christmas so we spent New Years in Amsterdam. It was amazing but I’d advise against the cold tho. That aside it was an amazing trip. I just recommend doing it in the summer or spring
I'm planning to go on an ef trip in Summer 2022. But I am worried that everyone will want to just drink and party. I'm not into that scene and really enjoy history and culture. I'm worried that I won't fit in and enjoy myself
That’s a fair question and I’m the same as you. I don’t drink at all and am generally not into the nightlife scene. I will say Contiki gives off more of the party vibes than EF although there will always be a good amount of people into partying in either program. But at the same time there are also people who aren’t and I never felt like I was the odd one out. I just chose to not partake in the nightlife festivities. The trip is what you make of it and I’m sure there will be others who also are like you that are more into the history and culture.
This is definitely helpful! I booked the London, Paris, Rome trip with EF in April 2022 and am so excited! I do have a question tho: what is the age demographic with each agency? I’ll be 27 when I go on my first EF trip and am nervous I will be the oldest person (by a lot) on the trip.
Hi! So I will say you’ll be on the older end but most likely there should be other upper 20s people as well. I do think the average age is in the early 20s but at least on each EF trip I went on there were people that age. I’m 27 too but I went pre COVID so I was in my early and mid 20s when I traveled with EF.
@@KatherineMichelleYT HI! Great Video! So would you say Contiki tends to have more people mid 20's? I'm going to be 24 when I want to take my trip in 2022.
@@emilycarnevale7578 I would say both have the most amount of people in their early twenties but they also have a decent amount of people in their mid twenties as well. I went on a Contiki trip as a 25 year old in 2019 and their were a decent amount of people my age! There were also a good amount of people in their 30s or about to be too! Of course every trip is different, but I hope that helps!
I am planning for the summer of 2024 but I am torn between Greece, Italy, France and Spain. I am a huge fan of France because I speak the language but I have always wanted to go to Greece and Italy.
What is the breakdown in men vs women on ef and contiki? Seems like from a lot of videos I’ve seen it’s mostly women and I am worried about feeling out of place.
I went on an EF trip in Sept 2023, there were 4 men and over 20 women. This was the Ibiza trip so I’m curious what other trips breakdown is between genders.
I'm trying to plan for a trip to go to Italy next year in March for my birthday, but I'm a little unsure who to book with because of EF's cancellation policy and not giving back refunds. Is Contiki safer?
What's the age range on the EF trips? For instance, the oldest person on the trip would be...how old? (I know the limit is 35 but I wonder if anyone at that age range actually attends)
Of course it depends on the trip but there are 35 year olds that go. I’ve noticed the more unique or uncommon destinations tend to have an older demographic of travelers such as Ecuador, Egypt, or Ghana versus say the Europe trips.
I am 30 with a 25 year old soul & vibe but I am afraid I will be the oldest 😅 I want to do the one month Europe trip . I was planning to go alone but I feel unsafe as a woman to do it . And well I have been living in USA for 6 years but I feel safe here .
Would this be a good couples trip? Or would it be better solo. I would love to go with my boyfriend but majority of videos I’ve seen on the Europe trip are mainly groups of girls and I want my boyfriend to be able to have some guy bonding time
I would say it’s also a good trip for a couples! There’s always a good mix of guys and girls although I do think there are more females that go. I have seen couples go and they also had a fun time!
@@volleyballgabbyyy so after looking for EF. I’d need to send you an email and through there you’d be given a discount code from my referral. If you’re comfortable you can DM me your email via my Instagram @katherinevasiliev.
Either one you go on there’s a good chance you’ll experience both. But I’d say EF has less of a party vibe than Contiki. I’ve experienced some cliques on most trips but I also always make friends too. You don’t have to befriend everyone, just find a few good people and stick with them 😊 I still keep in touch with people I befriended on these trips!
At 72, I realize that I am not in the demographic group that you focus on on your channel, but I am finally getting to realize my wife and I want to do some small (
Hello! That is so exciting! I believe the EF Go Ahead Tours are all ages. I haven’t tried them myself but I’m sure they are just as amazing as EF Ultimate Break as they’re under the same company.
@@KatherineMichelleYT Thanks for the response. Even though I am not your primary demographic, I have subscribed and certainly plan on watching more of your content going forward. While I may be old (er), I still feel ‘young at heart’ .. or as Bob Dylan would say “Forever Young”. And if you never heard that song, I encourage your to seek it out and listen to the lyrics … it will inspire you!
Hey queen, can you clear a doubt? When going from hotel to hotel, can you order food from the hotel? do you have to pay it? i don't understand the 4 dinner part that they offer😂 like are we supposed to starve at night? when we'll be in the trip for 11 days🤣😭😭 what about lunch? am i supposed to buy it from the hotel? how many cash would you advise us to take to europe?
Hi!! Good question! You typically don’t eat at the hotel but will either have free time to have lunch or dinner or the whole group will stop by somewhere. The 4 dinners are what’s included and the rest you just have to pay for yourself. EF for example suggests $80-$100 a day for a budget for all expenses such as meals. Of course this depends on where you’re traveling. I just came from a trip in Costa Rica and also Ecuador from EF and I ate very well. 😊
@@KatherineMichelleYT thanks queen! 💕 I’ll book a trip to Greece for 2023 and I’ll def be using your code🫶 thank you for being so open! I watched other 2 videos of some youtubers and they made it seems that you just ordered food and was delivered to you for free etc. Hope you keep traveling and uploading such educational and fun content!💕
Hey love the videos! I am planning on going to scandavia and Russia with Contiki. Was Russia safe for you as a US citizen? Was flying in and out a problem?
Haha I went on that exact trip! Yes it’s safe! They’re just more strict I would say so make sure you have all the necessary documents and be professional at he airport/border. I’m Russian American so maybe I feel safer than most Americans but overall Russians just present a more serious face at first but when you get to know them they’re all very kind 💕
Great review Katherine, I'm planning on booking a trip through EF ultimate break to Costa Rica for my 25th birthday but am hesitant for a few reasons. 1. I have a disability 2. I have never traveled alone. What do you suggest in my situation?
With having a disability I think the best thing to do is to tell EF ahead of time so that they can best accommodate you. As for traveling alone, I would say half if not more than half of the travelers are solo and so you’d just fit right in with everyone!
I’d say they are about the same. It more so depends on your destination. With both I remember sometimes staying in hostels in Europe (with only other people in the tour group). For my most recent trip to Egypt, Israel, and Jordan, given the destination we only stayed in hotels with Contiki and I traveled with a friend so Contiki paired us to share a room each night. The accommodations were fairly nice each night.
If you want to book an EF Ultimate trip I got you! Follow my link www.efultimatebreak.com/?ba=UAKatherineMichelle100 and use promo code: UAKatherineMichelle100 to receive $100 your next trip!
Overall, they’re not bad. You always stay with just people on your EF trip which is really nice and makes me feel safer. But the rooms always vary depending on the hostel.
Why is contiki way more cheaper, I saw a trip on EF and the trip was for 11 days to Rome, London, and Paris for 3500 but On contiki for 9 days Rome to London is only 1410 dollars why is that?
