Maybe try putting the reel in low gear... or not letting the fish run 10 feet before coming tight. Probably increase your landing odds from none to some on that first fish.

u need to get that reel spooled up till it almost full ur losing alot of ur gear ratio with having that line so low unless u have a high gear ratio an u keep that low line to give u more torque but if not ur losing ur torque by not having the reel spooled close to top of spool an then u can leave enough off for a top shot or leader.
