Bird dog hunting for grouse in northern Wisconsin! We joined our good friend Chris Bye and his English Setter bird dog Sig for a great walk chasing grouse and woodcock. It's always a joy being able to hunt over and see other peoples bird dogs in action. Sig did not disappoint and we were able to bag a few pointed grouse on this hunt.

Good video-thanks for sharing. The old carry the shotgun over the shoulder broken open while walking in bird country. Safari ish style. One starts it then two and finally all three hunters. Must be new to grouse hunting. Always be ready starting from the truck!

Thanks for your videos! I’m new to upland hunting. I moved from Dallas to Northern MN and started grouse hunting this past season! I love it! I’m looking to get my first bird dog. Any suggestions for a a guy looking for a breed that is great in the thick grouse cover but lower on the pet dander side for my wife who is allergic to high dander breeds such as labs and golden retrievers? Thanks again! I’ve used your videos to train our current dog to be more obedient and join us on adventures but she lacks the prey drive needed to be a quality hunting companion.

I’d look into a poodle pointer for the hypoallergenic. I can’t tell you if maybe a wirehair might also not shed much. Look for a breeder who also breeds for the lifestyle and birds you plan to have and hunt.
