Today I have a special guest with me, one of my most favorite people of all time, Alan Cohen. Alan and I are going to take you behind the scenes of his TEDx talk and walk you through how to come up with your own TEDx talk topic. Let’s get started!
Here are two takeaways from Season 7 Episode 8:
1. Your big idea can be a different way of looking at a common problem.
TED is all about big ideas. Do you know how to take your big idea and make it actionable with one question or one tip? We can get all wrapped up in the big idea and forget to give our listeners a tangible take-away.
2. Your topic (even though it may not be unique) will feel new because it comes through you and your unique lens.
This ties in to what we’ve always told people about their marketing. We have to trust that the attention, the love, and the words we put into our messaging is going to be seen and received by the right people at the right time.
