Hi! We are Phil and Alex! After leaving California in an RV, traveling full time, and helping our littlest with an open heart surgery, we've settled down in Tennessee. We found our homestead land and are learning each day how to live a more sustainable life. We are a family grown through the miracle of Adoption & Infertility Treatments. My hubby and I are high school sweethearts,we have been together 37 years,married 35.Our marriage is by far much better now,than in the past. We have our struggles,but we work at it everyday. We believe in the vows we took infront of God,and we work everyday to make our marriage better,as we get older.

We have a small yard and this year I’ve planted watermelons, onions and tomatoes. Then my wonderful husband bought me 4 ft tall garden boxes on wheels so I can plant herbs and wheel them in the garage during storms. Best gift ever! I can’t wait see our food grow!

Have you two considered doing Foster Care? There is such a need. It’s hard but o so rewarding. My husband and I got our license after 5 failed ivf’s. We now are taking care of the most precious 10mo old. Pray about it… I think you would be amazing

We lived and traveled in our RV for 2 years,we are now back in our house.I had a landscaping company come in and built me a 20x20 garden space with 4 raised bed.I grew all of my plants from seed,and so far everything is going great,I am so glad to be back with my hands in the dirt.

Your family is just beautiful and it is such a blessing that you both share it with us! The girls are looking so grown up! A podcast would be fantastic! Also, I could not imagine letting a tick just walk on my while I talk about them, haha, but Lyme is prevalent where I live, so no way! I would love some gardening tips on pest management and crop rotation in a home garden. I have found some things successful for pests...marigolds, diatomaceous earth (but hard to keep up on and I don't want to over use it), yellow dishes as a trap, and of course just picking off bugs...I also feel like it is just part of clean gardening and maybe I'm doing all I really can. I pray you guys stay safe with all of the crazy weather and storms!

I've enjoyed following your family for years, thank you. Y'all are inspiring! I will offer a tip I discovered by accident since you are dealing with wasps currently. If you've been stung by wasps, scorpions, or minor burns, apply some Carmex lip balm. It takes the sting out within minutes and the pain doesn't return! Hope that brings some relief for all.

Carmex! Wow! Never would have thought that, but I’ll have to try it out. We use a bug bite balm we buy from our friends, but I’d be willing to try Carmex if I was in a pinch! Wonderful share

May Allah protect your beautiful family. I have been following your family when you were getting treatment for fertility. I remember praying for your family to have a baby and I remember when she was having surgery and daddy was on his knees and his head on the floor praying for her during surgery. That image i will never forget no matter what religion we believe, we all knock on the same door of that higher power to answer our prayer. May Allah bless your three beautiful children and protect them. And Alex the beautiful mama bless you heart sister.

Get a bottle cut off the top turn the top upside down and put it back in the bottle with the lid off then put a strong sugar and water syrup in bottle and the wasp go in that .

I love watching you guys. I want to grow food, and I did some cucumbers last summer. I live in an apartment and I have a tiny patio. What do you suggest for soil and what do you add to it?

Cucumbers need rich soil, and they like lots of sunlight and shade at sundown. A bag of fertilizer free potting soil would be a great start given the first sentence here is possible. 👏🤞🏼

Have you found wasp nest. ? When I used to deliver mail in the big cluster box in sub divisions I would own the back and every time there would be a wasp NEST in the cubby for out going mail and everyone I CLOSE THE BACK and I tell the customers I will not deliver (in this box it had 9 homes) your mail unless someone gets rid of that nest 😮 the neighbors worked together and got rid of the nest 👍👍

I’ve been leading a small group of men through the spiritual disciplines (inward, outward, corporate) required of a Godly Husband that I’ve found in the Bible. I have used many wonderful supporting texts from pastors and theologians I respect that support scripture in this way. I’m so hopeful of future generations of young boys being led by men like these. It’s been wonderful

Start with some herbs that require little amounts of sunshine. I did a quick online search and found 18: Bergamot; Chervil; Chives; Cuban Oregano Golden Oregano Lemon balm; Mint; Myoga Ginger; Parsley; Queen of the Prairie; Sorrel; Sweet woodruff Thyme; Wild ginger Lovage Catnip Chamomile Rosemary
