From what I've seen so far, this game seems to be a retro-Stonehearth with a heavier emphasis on community and logistics. This falls right into my cup of tea alongside Banished and Cities: Skylines. Though, I wonder if there would be combat.
for about the same size box you could've moved the fishing a couple blocks over and taken the little crescent shoreline more shoreline for about the same size fishing pool
Part of the strategy seems to be that you have a great many ways to raise resources and funds, not just taxes. You charge your peasants rent for their house. You can gain money by selling them resources. Peasants can be your employees and hand over produce to you or give portions of it.
No link to the game? I'd love to find a webpage something besides having to search for the game myself... I think it must be a mistake that it's not listed...
From what Splat mentioned, this looks like a game where you can't use modern nonsense like equalized taxation and free market. You're running a medieval economy. A lot of the industries are going to be wonky and unequal. If the loggers are allowed to run the lord's forest like their private business they will do so, and ruin the other villagers along the way. Instead of gifting or selling subsidized wood they will charge their neighbours market value. Instead of paying the lord for the wood, the other villagers will pay the logging family who will end up sitting on a majority of the village coins. So you got to figure out just how much you can extract from each kind of business or even individual family. A larger family can pay more cash than a small one. Some families will need to sell most of their products on the market just to survive, some can give tons of stuff to your warehouse.
