This is an interesting video but the heavy emphasis on exports and no little mention of producing food for African populations themselves is troubling to me. We should feed ourselves first. That should be the first goal.

Senegal had best coco.. Senegal and Zambia’s has 88 million hectares of available land suitable for rice production and said to be also quite suitable for maize and Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana and Nigeria already account for two thirds of the world’s cocoa. There is abundant water and land, increasing private sector investment and political commitment, all of which provide flickers of hope for a sector under revival. Aquaponics is a food supply revolution in the making. It is a closed water system - that is it uses very little water - that takes the waste of fish held in lower tanks to supply organic fertilizers to vegetables in upper levels to produce high yields of animal protein and vegetables to sunny arid water restricted environments. However the same model can be applied to Western sustainable models both scaling from family supply to commercial enterprises.

I do not know about corn or maze types in Africa. But in the Philippines where my wife is from the "sweet" corn should have been called bland corn. I am from Nebraska and I know sweet corn. I find it odd how the Brits call corn maze (which I know) but will corn of cob sweet corn as we do in the U.S.
