Inga edulis, known as ice cream-bean, joaquiniquil, cuaniquil, guama or guaba, is a fruit native to South America. It is in the mimosoid tribe of the legume family Fabaceae. Inga edulis has been cultivated as a fruit tree for millennia and is widely sold on the local South American marketplace, mainly for the sweet, succulent pulp surrounding the seeds. The white pulp (aril) is consumed raw as a sweet snack, though it is less nutritious than the seeds. Toxic compounds such as trypsin and chymotrypsin inhibitors contained in the seeds of Inga edulis are destroyed through cooking. The taste is described as resembling that of vanilla ice cream. Some varieties even possess a slight cinnamon flavor. The seeds are only edible when cooked and have a taste similar to that of chickpeas.
In this first episode I examine the state of the room system upon bringing it home from an exotic plant nursery, discuss the leaf burn that happened due to the transition from full shade to full sun, and observe how the recovery process is going in my new growing medium, coco coir.

Will the cutting propagate in water before adding it to soil?

I saw that little sneak peak in your alphonso mango series of your ice cream bean tree, I can't wait to see it's development!

yay a new video! I'm going to be trying to mix coconut coir and traditional bonsai soil together for soil. Bonsai soil being volcanic rock, pumice, small bits of clay and unfortunately some pine bark. I also want maximum aeration is the idea. I'm going to be trying this for papayas! I learned about soil by checking out Gary's best Gardening a channel you recommended before. I'm excited to see how this coconut coir works for your plant :)

My papaya plant (the biggest one I chose to keep) is slowly recovering. I don't know what to think now. Growing in almost pure sand wasn't enough for my plants to thrive. Everything that was struggling before my transplants to coco coir is recovering now.

Always keep the soil as moist as possible don’t let it dry or else the leaves could dry out and die

Nice video! Any update on the mango?

I lost the Mango in a Tube series that ran for a while until I got to this new place. The leaves burned in the full sun, and whatever fungal disease was present for the last year or two killed of all the new leaves and the entire stem to the base.
