Thank you for this very pleasant video. I also tried Armenian Cucumber in Virginia USA, Agricultural Zone 7. We had a very hot and humid summer and they are going absolutely crazy. Very delicious. Crunchy and do easy to grow 😌

I used to eat them when I would visit Syria in the summer as a kid. Haven't seen them in any supermarkets here in the US so I started growing them last year. It was a great success and better than traditional cucumbers! I also grew Striaght-8 and Wisconsin pickling cucumbers but they were very bitter so this year I'm only going to grow Armenian cucumbers. I have a couple different varieties I'm going to try.

Try Beit Alpha Cucumbers. Heavy producers and no bitterness.

I am starting to get some large ones here in Northern California, Sonoma County. I planted late, like 5/15/20. They are great because they use a little less water than say lemon cucumber. The plant is tough, bug resistant, and can stand to go without water for a day or two if it has to. Also, my soil is not great and this plant did excellent just the same! Excellent video!

I grew these for the first time last year. I had so many cucumbers I couldn’t eat them all they grow fast and in abundance. I will definitely be growing more of these this year. Also are it rainier they’d get huge this is a high yielding cucumber plant.

I remember eating them when i was little , they are not as juicy as english cucumbers , but they are so much richer in other nutrients , and the taste is so rich ...

Popped on to find out when to harvest my Armenian cucumbers. Apparently I have let one get Way too big, so will use him for seed for next year. But I'm going to harvest the other one for dinner tonight. Thanks for the video. Never grown these before.

Nice video. I am hoping my plants will make fruit before a freeze. I am at 5200 feet in Lassen county CA. Lovely tiny 2-3 cm and many flowers

Looks great, nice and fleshy. Other cucumbers that size would be usually be seedy. I will have to give it a try if it likes hot and humid.

Yes Chris! Its a great substitute for the regular cucumber. Fleshy and juicy :) We are in the subtropics but I can imagine it will grow everywhere. Let me know how you go! Cheers. Ewa

What your growing season like? Is it hot and rainy? Hot and dry? Mild and dry?

We live in a coastal subtropical part of Australia, however we have a very dry and hot summer this year. Luckily, the Armenian cucumber doesn't mind it as you can see :)

@@PermacultureHaven , oh I live in South Florida in the subtropics too. My summers are hot with lots of rain so I guess Armenian cucumber may not be for me :(

Armenian melon/cucumber should be cultivated way earlier. this is to big. it should be between 15 to 25 CM long with 1 to 2 CM in diameter only. we usually keep 1 to overgrow so we can take the seeds for next year.

In the video it was about 3 hands wide, which for me (a big man) is 27 cm.

The Armenian cucumber is not a cucumber, and it doesn’t taste like a cucumber. It taste very plain.
