What a revelation. It's been 7 years since from this video, does anyone knows how are things coming along now. I am intrigue and interested and would like to know how the company is doing? Thank you..

We're going to have to do this kind of stuff ourselves. Companies refuse to.

Ginger, could your process of growing bricks be used in a 3D printer that can build a home or anything else?

Sounds wonderfull. how strong aare they compared too other bricks, Are they almost indestructable. Can they be broken with a judo chop like other bricks. A solid demonstration could put it over the top. Too make a TRILLION PLUS BRICKS in CLEAN green way would be a miracle made real and a huge benefit for our spaceship EARTH.

Could you do this with compressed earth bricks instead of using a certain percentage of cement

What if I still want my house to be constructed of the most common known materials of concrete bricks and wood ? Would you say that there's something wrong with that ? It's just my personal preference but I have nothing against hemp though. Wood and clay from the bricks are part of nature too you know, they come from the ground as well.

Seems like a great way to manufacture building materials on Mars. Mars has a lot of sand and potentially some water (that can be derived from ice). Set up an initial grow facility, build out more permanent structures from material grown from Martian soil, boom - colonization.

It could also be useful in areas with a lot of dirt but not much building materials, if the cost is brought down it could be much cheaper and faster than shipping wood or steel.

А если в пустыне (или любом другом месте где есть песчаная насыпь) заливать эти бактерии на песок, получится дорога!

This is interesting, but aside from using a different raw material, would these have an advantage over compressed earth blocks and stabilized compressed earth blocks?
@monkeymanwasd1239
@monkeymanwasd1239 6 лет назад
yes as it would add fiber and glue to the mix without damaging existing stuctures

if we taxed bankers, we could pay for a basic income for everyone and then everyone can stop and transition from fuelling harmful practices to contributing to developing generative alternatives and solutions for all our harmful practices.

Pretty sure she's talking about mycellium and if so this is not her idea, Its known that mycellium is changing the future for the better.

She talks of Sporosarcina Pasteurii, an heterotrofic bacteria that can perform the biochemical hydrolysis of urea and precipitate Calcium Carbonate as a product of his metabolism.
