Growing Carrots from Seeds to Harvest in small Veg Boxes 

I’ve tried to grow carrots with no luck so I will follow your tutorial 😊

Im on day 11 with my carrots in shallow cardboard boxes lined with plastic outdoors. They are beautiful but will quickly need more room. Should i transplant them into grow bags now, or wait? Also, should i add garden vegetable/fruit waste to the soil? I have other vegetables like broccoli, squash, beets, tomatoes, and much more doing the same. They are growing beautifully ❤ but i am unsure when to transplant them to grow bage. For the big vegetables i have 5 lb bags, medium 3 lb, and for herbs 1lb. Love your videos!! New sub!

At 1:21 you state a temperature. Is this the temp of the water you are using? If so, has every watering got to be around that temp or are you ok to use unheated water after that? Sorry for the enquiry, my dad passed away and I'm the new understudy!

I give my fresh carrot tops to my vegan neighbor and she makes her green drink. Nothing is wasted.

What did you do with the green tops?

The nice thing about putting veggies in boxes like this is that when the weather gets bad, you can always give them shelter.

Dont have wood shavings .Would shredded paper/newspaper work as top mulch?

It's not a good idea to use newspaper because it contains ink, and the ink will mix with the soil and end up in the plants.

How often water in?

Wouldn’t the wood shavings attract termites?😳

That's a lot of soil cost for a few dozen carrots.. even though these are not normal carrots - they only cost $1.25 a lb in the store... I'd say you spent a lot more than that on seeds, water, soil and the containers.
