You don't have to hug me to tell me you love me. I believe you when you take your time to teach me to be kind to myself by making anything that sustains my life possible. You actually want me to eat well by involving myself in the process of getting my own food on the table. What can I say? "Thank you for that" is a standard way of showing appreciation where I am at the moment. That's a beauty compared to the carnage we cause each other in this place that just may need a different mindset of way we share what belongs to the world when one is in the world. Keep it up.

I am going to try this. seems like fun and I use green onions all the time. but how much root is necessary to start growth. I eat the white parts and use the green for garnishment

Looks more like shallots to me … chives are used fresh or in cooking .. I grow these from older garlic that has sprouted. You can do this with actual green onions just cut them down to about an inch or two and stick the bulbs in water .. try it!
