GROWING MY HIP BACK - How I Restored Full Function Without Surgery

My hip joint was so badly damaged there was virtually no cartilage left, and the pain from bone-on-bone was awful. I walked really badly, with a bad limp, and could not run at all (I've been a runner for 40 years). The range of motion was severely compromised, and I was taking painkillers to sleep at night. Surgeons told me I was due for a hip replacement, as the joint was so badly worn down and no medication would help.
As my body is made of living, metabolically active cells (unlike a car) I could not accept the assumption that body parts "wear out" and cannot then be repaired by natural processes. I gave myself three months to see what I could do with diet and lifestyle adjustments. After three months it felt a lot better - less pain, more motion, and I even started slow jogging. After a year my hip was fully recovered. X-Rays show a completely normal hip joint, and can run and cycle as before, and there is no more pain. My joint has repaired itself to full function. This video explains what I did.
Here is a bullet-point list of the steps I took:
1) Reduce INFLAMMATION: Cut sugar from your diet - and that means CARBOHYDRATES, as they are all made of sugars (watch my video - link below - on Carbohydrates). Cut NIGHTSHADE vegetables (tomato, pepper, brinjal/egg plant). The science on this is inconclusive, so just cut them anyway. Cut out (or limit as best you can) ALCOHOL. Add natural anti-inflammatories to your cooking (Turmeric and Ginger)
2) Provide your Body with BUILDING BLOCKS: You need to manufacture collagen proteins to build cartilage, so take a COLLAGEN supplement, as well as Glucosamine and Chondroitin.
3) Allow your Body Time to Work: Follow an INTERMIMTTENT FASTING lifestyle (Video link below - it's not at all difficult!) to activate the process of AUTOPHAGY, allowing your body to clean out the damaged cartilage and replace it with ne cells.
4) Do Gentle, Regular EXERCISE: Just up to the pain point in order to improve the range of motion while the joint is repairing. Walking is good, when you can, and gentle mobility exercises. NO IMPACT EXERCISE (like running).
5) LOSE WEIGHT: This will be easy if you follow Step 1 and cut carbohydrates from your diet. Just increase your fat and oil intake instead. Remember, "Sugar makes you Fat; Fat makes you Thin!"
There will be good days and bad days, don't let the bad days set you back mentally. Sometimes you might overdo it and hurt your self, but it doesn't matter - just keep going! And at the end of three months. if there is progress, that should encourage you to persevere for longer: And remember, if it doesn't work for you in the end, you've lost nothing - you can have that hip replacement if that's your last option, but having delayed it will only mean the technology is now better!
Added Notes, thanks to viewers' requests: My low carbohydrate, low inflammation diet is based on principles, but it's not a religion so I'm allowed to "bend the rules" according to what food is available, what I can afford to buy, and what I think I can sustain long term. So, here goes: I eat meat, fish, chicken, eggs; I eat dairy (only full fat) - so cream, cheese, raw yoghurt but I dont "drink milk", other then a drop in my coffee (yes I drink coffee). I do not eat fruit (way too much sugar) except red or dark berries (see my video on fruit here • FRUIT - Do We Need It,... ) but I eat plenty of veggies, especially green ones. And nuts (especially almonds - I live in the south of Spain, they literally "grow on trees"). I cook with butter or olive oil, and then add more olive oil to the food on my plate (scrambled egg with olive oil poured over is heaven). I only need two meals a day because fat is such an efficient energy source.

I had to come back 6 weeks after I came across this video ... just to say THANK YOU! I took your advice and started my husband on an anti-inflammatory diet having had chronic pain in both his shoulders for 12+years - and more recently his hips..... we didn't have chondroitin or collagen but we followed your advice in cutting out sugars and bad carbs. Within TWO days he had significant relief from pain... within 2 weeks he was and is pain free with full mobility in both arms !! ... not to mention his BP has come down, his colour is good, brain fog gone and so much more energy!! He's 57 years old and this has been life changing! He says the relief is such he doesn't care if he never eats another chocolate mousse!!! And he's lost 10 pounds!!!

@@shapefixer My hip pain started in September 2018. I turned down hip replacement and went on an absolute diet and had 5 plasma injections and a chiropractor. I have 18 years of hospital experience so I am not illiterate. I tried everything, the pain got to the point where the joint was blocked. The pain was excruciating. I was using a cane after that walker when on January 10th, walking in excruciating pain, I thought, "This can't last much longer, something bad is going to happen" The next morning, while getting ready for work, I had a stroke. Everything you say is misleading and very stressful BECAUSE There are cases like mine that surgery is an escape to stay alive

I’m a podiatrist specialising in Biomechanics & gait analysis. 9 out of 10 hip & knee operations can be avoided if both imbalances and diet are addressed. Surgery carries risks and often only addresses the symptom & not the cause so if the cause is still present you are likely to have problems in the future. Joints must have 1} Good Range of motion and 2} Good muscle strength. You must cut out inflammatory foods: Mainly, sugar, grains & processed foods but sometimes dairy and the alcohol needs to go too temporarily. It’s not for ever, some of these can be reintroduced in moderation once you’ve broken the inflammatory cycle in your body. This video covers some great tips for giving the body what it needs to recover itself!

Thank you so much for doing these videos!! I first found you in April and tried your ideas for 3 months, but no improvement. But when I really was honest about my eating habits, I realized that I was cheating, cutting corners more and more. So I recently decided to try again and be strict with myself. I am a personal trainer and also take care of my house and grounds (and snow shoveling too) by myself. I have to stay in shape and not hurt all the time in order to keep living here and working. I also realized that I was hardly eating any meat or fish - mostly vegetables and fruit - LOTS of fruit! No wonder it wasn't working. The pain was getting worse and worse. I committed to this program a week ago, right after injuring my left shoulder (on top of my hip problems!), so my progress is slow. But I keep watching your videos and also El Paso Manual Physical Therapist. Today for the first time I feel a little better. I do believe that this will work - I just have to be careful not to deviate from the program. Thank you again - you are inspiring to me, and obviously to a lot of other people.

Beautiful video. Everyone blessed to hear it. Seeing my wifes way of life or my healthy fathers: just eat not too much. In my opinion it's not so much about the what you eat, but about if the body can handle it and throw it out, or if the body is full and overloaded to work properly. I see that at the end it's all about fasting. Just like Jesus had recommend us to do. Fast and pray and expect wonders. I believe that.

I have had inoperable hallux rigidus in my right foot for over 40 years. Recently I have had pain in my right hip joint. X-rays show this joint to be very narrow, whereas the left one has a normal gap. I think this has been caused by decades of walking in a unusual way to take pressure off my big toe joint. So I will try the things you suggest as I hate the thought of major surgery. I suspect they will improve the cartilage, but not so sure they will widen the gap - but I can only try.
@shapefixer
@shapefixer 5 месяцев назад
Look at my before and after Xrays in the community tab. The gap reopened. Yes, walking "funny" to conmpensate will definitely lead to joint problems, as the pressure through the joint is uneven, causing extra wear at certain points. I am quite sure that is what happened to me, as the muscles in the front of the hip were very strong from a huge cycling training load, yet my glutes and hamstrings were weakening by comparison. I am now strengthening my glutes (ass muscles) and already moving more evenly.

My aunt is descended from someone whose hip was blown out by a gunshot 160+ yrs ago. A lye solution was made from Slippery Elm ashes to clean out the wound, and then he didn't move for weeks. Many prayers (& likely fasting) were also sent up. However it happened, his hip essentially healed w/ a "gristle-like" substance (sounds like cartilage) formed in the joint area. Their diets would've been drastically different from today, so that & fasting, & prayer prob'ly did a lot to heal him.

Was told by surgeon if I didn't have surgery, I'd always have pain. Well, lifting lite weights, diet, stretching, moving (motion is the lotion), I play golf and have no more pain. Always try every option before you go near the knife! Thank you for your story! Congrats and cheers!

I suffered a couple shoulder dislocations in college and was told there was a 90% chance I would continue dislocating without surgery. Sadly I took the advice. I dislocated the other shoulder a couple times as well as the repaired shoulder and subsequently healed myself with physical therapy, tendon plucking, joint lubrication, a healthy diet and supplementation of the building blocks of connective tissue.
@bibastarmedia9650
@bibastarmedia9650 7 месяцев назад
Torn off connective tissue isn't similar in any way to the example in this video. Many cases on youtube now, documented, when people have muscles torn off their attachment point - were advised actually by doc's not to do surgery (well doc's aren't bothered too much, but if the person loves sport it is his business to make decision) - and many didn't - and regretting it massively of course afterwards; it could be at least reattached, but over time (I forgot but it was not too long, like a week or so, before it shrinks to no good chance to stretch it back really).

I healed 2 injured rotator cuffs (I fell off a cliff and in sliding down a groove in the rock face, tore both rotator cuffs) by doing Tai Chi and getting therapeutic massages weekly. My doctor sent me to PT where they did electro stimulation and had me do range of motion exercises that were so painful I would cry. Then I would get a massage and the massage therapist was so wonderful at easing the pain. I had been taking Tai Chi lessons and was told to stop, but Tai Chi barely hurt, and I often felt better after class and practicing at home (did the short form). I decided to keep up with the Tai Chi and massages and quit the PT. I recovered from the tears in less than a month. I now occasionally have severe bursitis type pain in one of the shoulders when it's cold and damp or if I do something to stress my shoulder joints, like running a weed wacker for too long. I ice the joint and take some ibuprofen and rest, and I am fine.

A number of my older friends that play pickleball have found HUGE improvement in bad knees just by consuming a lot of collagen or gelatin daily, you typically start to notice some improvement within a few weeks. I followed their advice and got similar really good results. You can also take some glycine, which is the main amino in collagen. Theory is that although glycine can be synthesized by our body, many of us are not able to synthesize enough internally. In the past, humans ate a lot of collagen in our foods, plus we had fewer toxins in our food supply and glycine is used up by the liver when detoxifying. Also glycine is needed to clear excess methionine out of the body and high intake of muscle meat in the USA means we are eating types of meat with high methionine and lower glycine and the glycine gets used up clearing methionine from the system. So it could be that some people do not have enough internal glycine and building blocks to rebuild cartilage from daily wear and tear.

I've since begun a walking and strength training regimen (gradually increasing it) and now do Jiu-Jitsu 2 times a week. I stopped eating sugar and bread and every meal is meat based. My thoughts exactly! I listened to this testimonial and kept waiting for him to talk about the part that is not on the material level-the most important part of all was his realization and belief that he could heal himself! We all have this potential and frankly many people change all of the physical aspects in their life and still don't fully heal or still get a debilitating disease because the spiritual/mental/emotional piece has yet to be addressed. That was about five years ago and he’s fine now. He’s a small dog, about 28 lbs. which helps, so they say. If the cruciate is completely torn away, then I think they need surgery. The vet told me it was, but I didn’t think so. If there is even a small attachment, then it can heal, but only with careful monitoring and rest. It’s the scar tissue which reconnects the ligament, so you have to watch it doesn’t get torn again before it heals. I think it’s worth a good try, better than surgery. I also make his dog food, which I’m sure helps. He was about 10 yrs when this happened. He’s pretty old now, but going strong. He jumps, runs, no problem.

Hi! I am back a month and a half after first seeing this video. At first I was feeling great and hopeful. I have quit sugar and alcohol and breads and chips (bad carbs) the entire time. Also taking collagen and the other supplements. I am definitely better but I am needing patience. I was lucky to get in some physical therapy and I am Learning that the time is needed to get strength back from weakness that has developed due to favoring and such. I am having more good days instead of 24/7 pain. I am sleeping great! I have bad days that make me feel defeated and I will cry thinking my life is done and I will just be crippled and unable to do all the things that make me alive!! My message is to be patient with yourself. Please! Keep watching videos, keep reading, keep moving. Stay determined and keep moving forward. We can do this! I will come back in another month for an update.

I totally agree with you! I’m 72 and starting to feel stiffness here and there - I realise this is my body telling me to get off my computer and rear end, and start taking care of my body! I took care of my mom for the last 5 years of her life. She always lived quite healthfully, was very active, and a relatively good life until 96. We did try much of the advice in this talk, and I’m sure this really helped. When she moved to a retirement home, eating poorer meals, and becoming less active, she began having many more health problems. Her many doctors mostly gave her medications to try to control inflammation, and I could see this did not help her quality of life. This guy gives a lot of good advice, and I have seen that traditional medical doctors only say our problems are because of age, and that operations are someday necessary. I saw my mom take good care of herself, and she lived a good, healthy life. Now, I have begun taking my life back, too, while I still have the chance.

The mountain of money is made by the insurance companies and not the doctors. Doctors in the US usually get paid only 25% of what the codes of a certain procedure are indicating. Otherwise I fully agree with the video and I myself experienced the benefits of proper diet and recovering from a nasty diagnosis.

@@elinpelin17 Of course the insurance companies make a mountain of money. I also know enough doctors personally and see how they live to know that they ARE making a damn good living. Only a narcissistic A$$ hole would say what you said. I'm not blind. And the cold, hard fact of the matter is that these doctors are making a mountain of money, and they have absolutely ZERO accountability for all the damage they do to people through malpractice and prescription drugs. The doctors all protect each other and refuse to be expert witnesses. The Presidents of the medical groups will not allow their doctors to testify and threaten to fire them. The state regulatory agencies give them a free pass and the attorneys get payoffs from the malpractice insurance companies to shut up and drop cases. A doctor would have to take a spoon and scoop a patient's eyeballs out before they could be successfully sued. So the doctors runs patients through like cattle. Oh, yeah, you can diagnose somebody from the 5 minutes they give you for a visit, look at some blood test results and prescibe a pill that will put their system in a tail spin and saddle them with side effects. They see 50 - 60 patients a day. And don't even get me started on how much they make doing surgeries and specialized surgeries. Anesthesiologists rake in 300 - 500 k per year. So, honestly, BITE ME. F'ing A$$hole.

I'm a retired NHS GP (family doctor) in the UK. I wholeheartedly agree with your approach Andrew. I always advised patients to regard joint replacement surgery as a last resort, after trying everything else. If a patient goes to see an orthopaedic surgeon they will often look at the X-ray, mutter a few incantations designed to put the patient into a mesmeric trance and say, "That definitely needs a hip replacement', all too often without talking to the patient properly, discussing lifestyle, other approaches or the pros and cons of what is major surgery. There is an old adage that says, "All surgeons should know how to operate. Good surgeons know when to operate and the best surgeons know when NOT to operate." Great to hear of your excellent recovery. I do all the things you recommend and my hips and knees are absolutely fine while friends and former colleagues are having hip and knee replacements willy nilly. One recently had to have a revision knee replacement after the first one went awry. Another ended up with a longer leg after hip replacement and has had to have the other hip replaced partly just to to even her leg lengths out. All of these friends are younger than me. With my very low levels of inflammation as measured by hs-CRP (high sensitivity C-Reactive Protein) I visualise my hip and knee cartilage as white, gleaming, healthy and doing its job just as designed by the miracle of nature.

I absolutely agree. I was told at age 28 that both my hip joints needed replacement. I am now 77 years old and both my hip joints are still the original version. When I start having some discomfort at times, I immediately check my diet and cut any inflammatory foods I might have had to many of. Putting full awareness to what the body needs, make a few changes and the body will do the healing work! Thank you, Andrew, for this passionate and helpful talk. May many people get inspired by you!

May I ask how bad exactly your hips were at 28? I just saw an ortho yesterday and the x-ray shows bone on bone, but there's still a little cartilage left. No AVN. He said I have the hip of a 70 year old. I'm 41, very active, healthy 160lbs weight, eat excellent. The ortho did not advise surgery for someone my age, but stated it will be inevitable at some point. I wanna know how I make it to 77 like you did without going under the knife. I just started 3 weeks ago my own at-home physical therapy, and supplementing with a collagen complex, glucosamine,, chondritin, turmeric, & hylauronic acid.

Thanks for sharing your story. I can say that I am 5 months into a very similar journey. I started working with a functional doctor here in the states and the recommendations in terms of nutrition, diet and supplements are aligned with your advice. The blood test I had documented the inflammation markers and the amino acids that were low etc. I am now walking 2 1/2 miles a day on the treadmill and outdoors, focused on zone 2 training to support my mitochondria. I still have very minor hip pain, but like yourself, it is continuing to diminish. The diet changes, you get used to it and you don’t want the bad foods you ate before, carbs, sugars, etc. Hopefully this will encourage someone else as well.

You can do magic with just diet. My spine was in terrible shape, joints were painful, ruptured disc, nerve pain, etc. Now at 27, no pain, best mobility I've ever had in my life, I do 0 exercise beyond walking and other daily chores, musculature is good, my bone structure has changed, my joints have changed their density and shape, tendons, teeth, jaw, etc. I've eaten raw and cooked animal products, especially eggs, beef, raw dairy products like butter, cheese and milk, sardines, other fish with the bones still in, meats that have a lot of tendons and always eat the chewy parts aswell, chicken skins, organs, cod liver, olive oil, fruits and so on. The problem with people is that they are limited in their ideas of what is nutritious, if you just eat rice and chicken breast, but never the skin, tendons, bones, fat you are missing out on vital nutrients.

I believe you, I know you’re right. I’ve been doing the same with my back. I broke it several years ago and that injury had a knock on effect due to lifting heavy weights. I couldn’t walk for about two years or even get in and out of my car. From my bed I had to fall to my knees and crawl to the bathroom when I needed the toilet and I had to come down the stairs slowly on my bum, but on some days I couldn’t even move. I thought I was going to end up in a wheelchair. I went to see many surgeons and none of them knew where to start with me and said my case was very complicated due to the amount of damage. L1 to L5, bulging, dehydrated and degenerated, and damage vertebrae’s inbetween, and my sciatic nerve was being crushed because my lower back had basically collapsed. Eventually I gave up with the doctors because I didn’t want to risk major surgery. And so for the last six months, I’ve cleaned up my diet and have been stretching out my back several times a day trying to keep in the position it needs to be so it can heal towards its original position. I’ve also been swimming and having saunas most days where I also stretch. I even started going back to the gym and lifting some weights but knowing my limit. And now, I feel so much better. I’ve got my life back. I had the same logic as you that the body has the ability to heal given the right building blocks. I still have a little way to go and may not heal completely, but I’ve definitely healed enough to avoid having risky, major surgery.

@@AustinSanders-f2eI featured L4 from a 25ft fall. Also broke arm, leg and shattered my heel. Life changing injuries. Weightlifting after the accident caused my back injuries to worsen. I ended up with discs L1-5, bulging, degenerated and dehydrated , also really bad nerve compression and developed arthritis at facet joint. I Spent thousands seeing all the top back surgeons, but none of them knew where to start because there was so many problems. At one point, I thought I was going to be in a wheelchair in the near future. After years of not being able to walk and having to crawl to the bathroom on my knees, I started stretching out my back continuously throughout the day, trying to get my spine into the correct position, I would hear it crack each time. Also having saunas everyday so I could stretch when my body was warm. I also started juicing everyday. I’ve improved massively. I’ve even started doing weights again which I think is important to build muscle around my injured discs. My theory was the body has the ability to regenerate and heal. Even bones regrow so why can’t my discs repair if they’re in their correct position and I’m giving my body the right nutrients. I believe people with injured backs often do not heal because their spine is not in its correct position, so the body needs to be stretched and maintain its normal position, giving it chance to heal in the position it needs to be in. I’m still working on healing my back, but the differences amazing, so I believe I’m doing something right which is making a good difference. I do still feel I have a way to go and probably won’t recover fully, but the improvement I’ve already seen from these few changes gives me hope and my life back.

Slightly off topic but important to know is that general anesthesia makes other organs go to sleep also. My husband recenly had a carotid endartecomy surgery. Surgeon said 2 day stay in hospital after. His bladder 'went to sleep' (couldn't urinate on his own) according to the Urologist and was discharged A WEEK LATER with a Foley catheter in place. Older men (hubby is 64) are often effected by this as a result of general anesthesia. We were NOT told this could be an issue before surgery. The whole ordeal was quite emasculating and he became depressed. Point is general anesthesia has MANY risk factors not disclosed by Drs/Surgeons. Do your research on ANY surgical procedure, find out cause and effect and ASK QUESTIONS! Your health and your life may depend on it. ps: hubby is doing better. His body rejected the Foley catheter 3 days after we got home and is urinating on his own. Blessings to y'all.

This is the first time I have heard confirmation of my own story I was an active and aggressive runner in police service. My health was important to me due to my career.. I suffered a hip injury while running on uneven grass slopes and went to the doctor who told me I would need a hip replacement within 5 years and that my other hip was also in bad condition. Both my parents had previously had hip replacements which normally last 10 years before needing to be re-done. I assumed that I had inherited the same weakness. It came as a complete shock to my system and was life changing for me. From that day I never went back to the doctor. I changed my career to become a teacher and moved to cycling instead as a form of heart exercise. I never had hip x-rays again. 25 years later and my hips feel great, especially since moving to a carnivore diet which has removed the inflammation. It was great to hear your story that confirms that the body is much more powerful , and able to repair itself than we think

I'm now at 207lbs and 11% body fat and waist down to 32 inches. I hade my left hip replaced and the right one was not great. So, I added turmeric and ginger into my drinks with lemon, fasted 15 hours every day for 2 months, one day week at 24 hours, cut out alcohol , all processed foods, Bad carbs and meat. I used ice packs daily and started swimming 2km every morning, cycling 25-30km second workout and punched the hell out the punch bag 10 rounds three times a week. I bought the roller with knobbly bits on it to stretch my hip back and all muscles, daily. The ginger and turmeric along with chilies, peppers and pineapple took away 90% of the pain. I'm drinking 5 litres of filtered water with apple cider and have have an ecteronic magnetic pulse machine for healing. I bought a gaming chair and special support cushion so I sit high off the ground. Two months in and 90% of all pain in right has gone , it feels normal and I can as I say cycle, power walk on gym machine on 10 incline, do weights. My surgeon cant work it out and I have regrown cartilage as the Scans shows, the thin gap has more cartilage in it. Now lets see after 12 months if fully regrows but the fating science and rebuild of the body has some very good science and evidence behind it. THIS IS NOT EASY, requires dedication. Like you said, give it a try as you're already following your Dr advice then make a strong decision to follow the advice given above and Dr Kim Berry. At 70 I had a very bad fall that ruptured the sack between L1,L2 where the soft jelly was leaking out; some damage L4L5. I was told I had 2 options a needle in my spine that would cure me of pain for years or back surgery. I have heard both success and horror stories on both the worst was never to walk again. I decided to travel to Canada from Guyana to seek what I felt was "better" medical advice as at this point I could only walk at a 45 degree angle in pain.The orthopedic surgeon without looking at my Xray or MRI told me to come back in 3 months as this type of injury may correct itself and if it didn't would discuss procedures at that time. Whilst lying in "off the chart" pain my husband searched on the internet to find a clinic that may be able to help. We found an alternative sports clinic ran by two chiropractor "husband and wife" team. After consulting my records they set out an exercise program, massage, heat and tense. I in turn very knowledgeable about my body's needs cut all sugars, nightshade veg, carbs, and some alcohol. I introduced lemon, ginger, tumeric and garlic shots every morning on empty stomach. Within an hour 8 Oz of green juice (kale, curly parsley, Italian parsley, celery, and green apples, a shot of dandelion juice, and Macha green tea by noon. 2 poached eggs and 1 toasted slice of Ezekiel bread with olive oil .19 hours fast between dinner and breakfast lots of water and dinner at 6; poached fish, arugula/mixed baby greens and beets salad. Not only was I able to walk upright within a month but as of last month, 8 monyhs after the accident, the "natural degeneration" of my spine has begun to regenerate itself. I'm also experiencing less brain fog and sleeping a little better at nights. I hope this is of help. This doesn't mean to say I won't enjoy a glass of wine or a beer occasionally at a friend's bday party but in my home I "do better when you know better" Mya Angelou ❤❤

He bought Glucosamine, Chondroitin, and Collagen off the internet before we saw your vide. He has taken them for 3 weeks, and feels good enough for a small walk. So glad you confirm this is the right track. He also thinks Lemon Ginger tea helps him a lot with inflammation.

I believe that we can all heal our own bodies and prefer natural remedies that work. I hate most pharma stuff and very rarely use meds if ever! I don't trust doctors or dentists! The scamdemic did it for me whereby I totally would not allow myself to be taken to a hospital as they might just perform end of life on me. I've heard and witnessed so much that I'm an absolute sceptic where so-called modern medicine is concerned. We have wild plants which heal all manner of illnesses but the FDA and Big Pharma don't want you to know this. Although they sneakily add plants to their meds mixed in with chemicals. Our bodies were never meant to ingest chemicals! Nature is our healer!

@taniayager3361 I agree with you for the most part, Big Money has both our food and our healthcare locked down, but there is a place for life-saving medical interventions (remember in "nature" our average life expectancy is closer to 35!)

I'm 55, at age 40 I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis and bursitis in the right hip. MRI, ultrasound, etc. I was taking full dosage of Celebrex. The side effects of that medication are harsh. I asked my doctor how likely am I to experience the side effects ( I already had experienced blood in the stool). She told me I was very likely to experience some or all. She said she typically precribes this medication to old aged people and they will likely die of something else. She said I need to figure out how to get off this medication. I did some research and l started taking marine grade coral calcium (calcium and magnesium blend with 72+ minerals)along with a much better diet. Stopped playing sports( ice hockey, volleyball, etc.). I would say after about a 6 of months I was medicating once in a while to get by( I work in construction). Within a year, I stopped using that medication all together. The body has the ability to recover and heal itself, we just need to give it what it requires to do it. I'm not super active. I dont want risk injury. My construction work is physically demanding enough. 👍😁👍

Oh yes, I forgot one other crazy, desperate thing that I did to try to heal my hip. I was a certified recreational scuba diver with enriched air(nitrox). I would do a shore dive with my brother at the lake. I was in pain so I had to carefully put on my equipment in the water. Normally, one would don all the equipment at the tailgate of the car and walk into the water. We would descend to about 33 feet (atmosphere) in the cold dark lake and stay down for about 45mins. After our safety stop during and acent back to the surface, I could walk from the shoreline to the tailgate of the car with no pain wearing all the equipment. I believe that was a poor man's hyperbaric chamber. The cold water pressure at one atmosphere and the enriched oxygen at depth was one of the keys to speed up my recovery. Before I tried it, I had no idea if it would work, but thanks to my persistent brother who needed a dive buddy, my health took on a positive change! I hope thing helps!

Brilliant! Yes the pressure change would have been very therapeutic. It also works to lie on your back and get a volunteer to slowly but firmly pull your leg to open up the joint socket.

I was already pretty much eating like this when my hip first started hurting. I have always been a fitness and nutrition fanatic, so I'm in really good shape. Long story short, I tried all these physical therapy videos for the hip with little success. Then I tried swimming. OMG what a miracle! I belong to outdoor and indoor pools and swim laps in these Olympic size pools every day for 30 minutes. So, if you're having a hard time with results, give it a try. It worked like magic for me.

Stating there was a class action suite from 125,000 ( that I remember, :-) people towards Dr's who were doing hip replacement with a metal replacement that was causing blood poisoning from the metal. I went back and looked at the replacement item that the Dr & his office were using and it was that brand. I never went back. Last year a lady that lives in my apartment who is 77 had a hip replacement and then developed blood poisoning........ I asked her if she was going to file a class action suite against the Dr's . She didn't say............... Thank you for all the tips to help heal without surgery!!! Many Blessings To all

Studies done on canines with hip dysplasia found joint relief in 75% of dogs given 2000mg EsterC. Did not cure CHP, but helped build the cushioning cartilage of joints, restoring mobility. Since then, MSM found to be synergistic with the EsterC in helping joint mobility. Takes time, though, to repair damage...those with patience and persistence will prevail.

Same experiences here, but instead of a worn out hip I had severe back hernia. Got so bad that I was at the stage where I could not properly lift my foot and had constant pains shooting down my leg. I used to work as a nurse in a neurology ward so I am familiar with the symptoms and treatment. I was taught that surgery is the only option. But with my interest in the food/life style-health connection, I tried building up the back muscles for natural support of the vertebraes (daily walking and cycling instead of a car), supplementing with glucosamine and msm, starting the day with aryuvedic anti inflammatory tea (kurkumin, black pepper, fresh mint, fresh ginger, 2 ground cloves and pinch of coconut fat) and going low carb and intermittent fasting. And lots of water with fresh lemon. I dont eat meat but an egg every day, fish, real butter and cheese, skyr, kefir, nuts and beans. Lots of Asian cooking. And having a sweet tooth I even have dark chocolate or a cookie with my evening black coffee. Pain gone, I can lift heavy groceries and run again without any pain. I am now convinced cartelidge can grow back.

@tamarak2079

This insight leads to a very interesting multipronged approach to helping folks addicted to alcohol. It might be possible to start a treatment with dietary, exercise changes to bring gut biome into balance while simultaneously non judgemental talk therapy. This combined, might bring the mental and physical inflammation to bearable limokts and only once these things are accimplished, to begin to address the alcoho abuse. This channel, story does imply a different aporoach to healing than the naive, simplistic, egoic "fix"
@gisele2808
@gisele2808 6 месяцев назад
Amino acid therapy has been successful for addictions, many of which are forms of self-medication. Alcohol affects the calming neurotransmitter GABA, hence why some drink. Some have had success using GABA or things that increase GABA. Might also be why some get better on a carnivore diet for the amino acids and nutrients it provides.
