We need to be as self sufficient as possible! People have always thought o was an odd duck because of all those things I do as well. I like to make juice from the hawthorn berries, the fruit is also good to dehydrate for tea. Love to watch like minded individuals ❤️ Have a blessed day.
Such a beautiful property with an abundance of wonderful fruits, herbs and vegetables. You are both wonderful caretakers of all God has blessed you with. ❤️🙏🏻Val C
We quit feeding the birds for a while last summer due to the bears. It was the first year we were able to get hazelnuts off the bush. They are small but delicious. Have only been able to enjoy our grapes a few years. Something eats them when ripe and the last few years they are eaten by something before they are ripe. Enjoy your videos and recipes.
YIKES! We do have a bear that we can hear and smell every once in a while in the woods out back, but we've yet to see it. 👀 I hope we get a few hazelnuts this year and maybe a few grapes. Right now, we are enjoying lots of spinach and Swiss chard! 😃 Have a blessed day!
Your homestead is so pretty Julie. Your orchards are beautiful. I can't wait to see your harvest. Do you do your own editing? Your videos are top quality. Ty Julie.
Wonderful video! I look at my garden as supplementing because we would starve to death if we had to live on it...I live in mid Arizona and growing things here is not a picnic. Between the altitude, lack of rain and huge swings in temperatures (not uncommon to be 95 in day and 30's at night) there are certain things that work and those that don't. I stopped trying to fight it! That and I am plant hospice and tend to just transition them to Jesus! I did go out this morning and deadheaded my roses and washed them to dry out to make rosehip oil and dried petals for tea and beauty products. I did spy some peppers and some tomato blooms so fingers crossed!! I will always try my best. Thanks for another wonderful catch up with you!
Thank you! I can only imagine the struggle in your area. We are still learning what works and what doesn't. It's a neverending battle. Onions are tough to grow. This year, we have them in the greenhouse. We'll see how that works. I'm glad that, even though you have struggled, you haven't given up. Keep moving forward! Blessings, my friend. ❤️
I live on Mexico USA texas boarder now 90 day night 70. But it also has rained a great deal these past months as never before it desert.but now it's changing so I am just now going to grow my herbs veggies fruit will look up to all here for advice thx hugs to all let's never give up on our selves never know how far we can go sky is the limit
I bought brussel sprout starts for the first time this year. I'll have to look up care and tips for growing. Are they best covered like cabbage to discourage the cabbage moth/larvae thing?
We don't seem to have any issues growing our Brussel sprouts like we do with cabbage. We don't usually grow them in the same bed either, but they look so alike that Joe got them mixed up. 🤔 We do plan on covering our cabbage, though. I think you will enjoy growing your Brussel sprouts. They are pretty easy.
@@JulieKeeperofMyHome Thx. I wouldn't mind seeing yours in progress, when to harvest and favorite recipes or preservation style for them in future videos :) Always adding to your work load :)
I'm sorry you feel that way. My channel is meant to be a slow living, relaxing channel. Much of life today is very fast-paced and stressful. If I can give just one person a moment of peace in their life, I have succeeded. I appreciate you taking the time to watch what you did. Many blessings to you!
