Yes, you must hand pollinate your indoor strawberry flowers even though they are self-pollinated. We will go over the difference between self-pollination, cross-pollination, and how to do both to your strawberries.

After pollinating, pluck off all the white/red flower petals so you know it's been pollinated. Once the flowers start coming, it becomes hard to track which ones you've already done unless you pluck the flowers.

advice here isnt the best. be gentler, it does matter, use a smaller brush, like a paint brush. they do pollinate better between multiple flowers, but across plants wont matter. at all.

I have never seen the red/purple color of strawberry flowers. I have only seen white strawberry flowers

Another tip would be to attach with tape a vibrating toothbrush (or anything that vibrates in a similar way) to the makeup brush. To simulate the wings of a bee.

I've found it necessary to manually pollinate most things I grow these days, even outside. There's not enough bees in my area anymore.

I'M NO EXPERT BUT I AM CURRENTLY GROWING 'EVERBEARING' STRAWBERRIES AND THEY WILL KEEP PRODUCING CONTINUOUSLY AS THEY DO OUTDOORS AS OPPOSED TO 'JUNE' BEARING STRAWBERRIES. I AM USING A GROW LIGHT 'LED' MYSELF AND IT IS WORKING SO FAR. GOT 2 BERRIES SO FAR.

Seems normal size. Wild Strawberries are often small. Selective breeding and modification has produced large berries but honestly they often lack flavor and texture. I grow my strawberries outside in soil topped with rocks, but want to try indoor as well.

Twice you've interchanged the words postal n stigma, please clarify according to your picture, you take the pollen from the anther and make sure to get it all over the STIGMA correct?

The round dome is the female part, it's what will turn into a berry. It needs to be pollinated with the pollen from the anthers surrounding it (or with the pollen from another flower's anthers).

the pollination would be infinitely better with with a brush with much less bristles. most people use soft paint brushes. and be gentler, it DOES matter. the tiniest damage to a seed site and you get a demented berry.

Yup. It happens. When cucumbers are miss shaped same situation. Have you ever opened a piece of sweet corn and it is missing a portion of kernels at the end? Those silks were not pollinated.

It's a response to viable seeds. If the fruits lack full pollination, less seeds are viable so the fruit shape/size favours the viable seed and doesn't bother storing resources around seeds that are duds. If most of the seeds are viable then the shape/size reflects that, you get a nice full fruit.
