Congratulations on your harvest Opie! Our cherry tomatoes ripened very early, and we are still waiting on the big ones -- a couple of days on them maybe. They got hit with 50 mph winds a couple days ago that busted some branches a bit. I had to do much the same thing in the vineyard last year -- strip out a lot of disease to allow better airflow and remove the pathogen.
Damn, that's a rough wind. Hope the gardens didn't get banged up too bad. Yeah, my straw bale tomatoes are just now ripening as well. It works out great for me. Now it's time to start pulling out the processing equipment and get ready for sauce and salsa. It's a lot of work be well worth the effort!

I got the seeds on ebay from a guy called Mr. Tomato. He can also be found on a growers forum called "Tomatoville". He has dozens of high quality heirloom varieties and they have always been true to type. Thank you!
Haha,...I have become a bit of tomato connoisseur over the years. I'm always searching for the best tomato ever. So far the Italian Heirloom is in the lead but who knows what other variety may be out there that can beat it. Early blight shows up as irregular yellow patches with black and brown spotting on the leaves and stems. It usually starts at the bottom of the plant and spreads. I will stunt growth and production and can eventually kill the plant. I HATE it!! But usually you can control it if you act quickly.
