Being from the UK what they said about certain haircuts was facts, having lines and patterns was frowned upon when I was at school. Also funny to see Dee look a little confused 😂 not sure if she got all the lingo being said here 😭
Being from the UK everything they said is true Black kids was always for athletic teams. Even if you was excluded you would still perform on the team but when it came down to the inspectors we would be hidden
@L M you talk normal but the people I have interacted with talked a bit fast I had to ask them to slow down when they was talking so I could understand.
Growing up black in London for me was pretty much like the video but it was fun😂 like looking back on the experience I don’t think I would’ve wanted to have lived anywhere else
American black ppl are nothing like black ppl who live in europe bc in europe they are from other countries, they know they’re in tune with their African and Caribbean backgrounds or are immigrants themselves. The blacks in the US were mostly brought through slavery hundreds of years ago and are just as ‘American’ as the white Americans. Niether group have strong ties to other places. The history here is very different and you can’t compare ppl here to anywhere in Europe.
No Yes my black friend from London said that every day he and his sister would walk fr school to there house and often a group of white kids would throw them into the church fountain that was next to their neighbor hood. I’m pretty sure that racist luv
Dee the thing is 90% of black people in the Uk have African mothers and fathers rather than in USA a lot of people mothers and fathers was born in the Usa
@@huldah1605 maybe it's a city thing? I live in a conservative smallish town in Cheshire so my experiences may be very different. Thanks for responding, might have been a wee bit hasty in my dismissal but a few agree it's relatable
Lol they should’ve mentioned that if you got in trouble at school your parents would threaten to send you back to Africa😂😂😂. Dad used that line all the time and me being naive believed him.
I feel like uk and us black people have quite similar experiences but they can be very different from people from different countries like i come from a country that is very homogenous like 97% white. Our schools and police are nor racist for example but there are a lot individual people who can be racist and very ignorant about what is racist and what is not
Me: The only Mexican in a all white school Kids in my school: CAN YOU TEACH ME TO SPEAK MEXICAN Also me: THE FUCK LANGUAGE IS MEXICAN?! AND WHAT MAKES YOU THINK I SPEAK I SPEAK IT IF GO TO A ALL WHITE SCHOOL (starts cussing them out quietly in spanish) I only know bad words in spanish lol everyone one in my family speaks fluently
Wow they had it good if that was all. My school middle school in NC had 5 caucasians in it. I moved north in the same state and my high school was maybe 6% black. This was in the 2000's. It was more separate than racist.
I think this is more dependent upon the area and the role you played in it. I played the role of “the only”. Everyone know what that is if you’ve played it before. It sounds like that’s what they were too, and that is a different dynamic than if there is more of you around or your area of more diverse. This sounds about right and it sounds like they are leaving things out, because I know I experienced more things from both teachers, fellow students, etc.
American schools are like that too. Tons of white kids with bright colors but they call braids with beads or locs distracting. Or regulate how many lines can be shaved in the head.
@@kermit_inbed3865 My school wasn't like that but a lot of the neighboring schools were and there have been plenty of news stories of teachers cutting black girls braids off.
I don’t know why but the audio sounds different in the reaction than the original if you can’t understand it try the original but I’m biased I’m from black from London
@@huldah1605 Yep happened to white boys at my school as well, for the specific things they said in the video as well. Girls wern't allowed to dye their hair either so they the ones with blood red hair would have been sent home.
Depends where you were. At my school guys weren't allowed to shave their hair shorter than 1cm or have it longer than their shoulder. If they had designs they were told not to do it again. Students weren't allowed to dye their hair, have nail polish, where anything bigger than small hoop earrings, wear make up, and women couldn't have their hair be shorter than their shoulders. Disobeyed any of these rules and you were sent home to change. Same shit with not wearing the right socks or hair band colour.
Teachers always get my name wrong and it’s not even hard to say it’s spelled Davion (Dae-vee-on) teacher be saying Devin, Davien, Davon, David, Divin I’m like ITS DAVION only a handful of teachers and subs actually get my name right idk if there dumb or not but my name is not that hard to say one time a teacher said demetris I said ITS FUCKING DAVION got detention for the rest of that week it was funny asl tho
@@happyhappy5829 werey ni bobo yen ...wetin carry that one come now... You dey mad.. You no fit talk Wetin you want forget insult... Na God go punish you for dey ode
So what we've learned is, black ppl in the UK and black people in the US have very similar experiences 🙄✋🏾, ppl are racist everywhere lol no country is better than the other.
It’s not overly scripted, its set questions filmed with different groups so of course with certain groups she could be more leading with the convo. Don’t be silly 😒
