I know how it feels to be an outcast I've never done anything wrong but I was still considered an outcast cuz I was in special education Deirdre I believe everything you said I always admired your uncle and I never believed any of those lies that was told about him I believe he was a good man he mad did some things wrong but I still believe it was a good man thank you are around to tell your story. Your uncle certainly helped a lot more people than anyone would ever know! I'm 64 years old and I'm glad you got to honor your uncle

Thank you Deirdre. You are the BEST. Glad that you were finally able to embrace your family heritage. I couldn't put your book down. It was great the way that you presented your Uncle in such a realistic manner. Not trying to make apologies or rationalize the things that may (or many not have happened), but making a concerted effort to allow people to see that Al Capone was also just a Man. A Son, a Brother, A Husband, A Father and an Uncle. Really, an excellent read. Thanks Again !!

My Father played pool with Al Capone, many times, and always said ,in conversation about him,"I only knew him as a very kind and generous man, only God shall judge the many things he may have done that people considered horrible I myself prefer good memories of the man to hold"My father was a very sweet soft spoken man who I never heard say an unkind word about anyone.

My mother's Uncle work in a dealership that sold Cadillacs in Chicago and your uncle tried in his Cadillac there and my mother's uncle asked him if he wanted to let crystal bases out of the back of it Al told him to keep them as a gift my mother's uncle and turn gave them to her when she had gone from Minnesota to Chicago to visit I still have them they are very beautiful and look very expensive

My (great) grandpa and Al were pretty good buds. My grandpa would tell me all kinds of story's and how he was such a generous man. I'm not sure if you (as a child) ever saw him. I believe my grandpa told me once that he was invited for a a family dinner. They laughed, drank, smoked, played cards and that's something you couldn't ever forget my grandpa tells me. Another thing that Al did was set my grandpa and grandma up. Who would've of known my grandparents married each other because of your uncle?!

@@DeirdreMarieCapone Ok so we're going to have to do a little detective work since she doesn't remember which brother but did give me so good info. She said it would have been in 1936 and at that time my grandmother Gert Simon (at the time, married and became a Marschke) was 18. I am going to look up Al Capones siblings now and try and take a guess based on their ages, but I'm sure you would be able to have a definitive guess as to who it was. Thank you so much for your replies and the telling of the TRUTH of the story of Alphonse Capone. I always thought the govt gave him the shaft, the same thing happened to Sonny Franzese. Then they try and "help" him by poisoning him with Mercury. May as well have given him small amounts of cyanide at that point 🤦🏾‍♂️. And similarly to John Gotti, your uncles were very generous to the less fortunate and the people loved them for it. For the most part, innocent people were never harmed by the La Coas Nostra, but unfortunate run ins with them did happen. The govt is way more of a threat to the people than the La Coas Nostra ever was. I've researched A LOT of govt "conspiracy theories" and the things they have done from the torturous human experiments they carried out including MK Ultra that still runs today. They have purposely started wars, rigged elections, brought about regime change for more "favorable" leaders/politicians, and trained/armed militants from other countries to carry out their terror. Isis, Cuban militants, Al Queda, ect. The govt also worked with the La Coas Nostra several times throughout history. They worked with Lucky Luciano during WW2 as they needed help controlling the docks in NY, as the German U Boats were wreaking havoc on the US military. They also worked with them in plots to try and takeout Fidel Castro (Castro was also NOT a bad guy, he was just protecting his people and their land.) with Sam Giancana. They worked with them to help JFK win the presidency, and then again when it was time to take him out. (Side note if you are interested in the JFK assassination check out on RU-vid "Everything is a rich man's trick: From JFK to 911" I've watched it 17 times now 🤣😂, it's that good.) Then the govt who's not supposed to have anything to do with "gangsters" then proceded over the years to take out all those involved in the assassination of JFK including Sam Giancana, Johnny Roselli, Milwaukee Phil A., and Jack Ruby. Sorry for the long message, history and the Mafia has always facinated me. Thank you so much again and hope all is well with you!

@@DeirdreMarieCapone My moms math doesn't make much sense. My guess would be Matt Capone. He would have been 28 at the time. My mother also said that my grandma used to live on Cicero ave in Chicago and her and her sister worked at the Wrigly Gum Factory. There was a shooting, my grandma and sister walked to go look, and that's where they met Al Capones brother. He sent my grandma flowers. She doesn't remember much after that. She said Al Capone had an abortion clinic in Spirit, Wisconsin run by a Dr. Carstens. My mom's whole side of the family grew up in Rib Lake, Wisconsin. Sorry I don't have more details.

So much respect I've for you Miss Capone, I'm sure it isn't easy if the world has a certain view of your family, but I honestly believe that the Capone family is a really wonderful family with really wonderful people. This video was so interesting , and I really would like to know more about Al Capone, I really believe he wasnt as bad as some people say he was. We are all human, we all make mistakes. Al has done some bad and some good things, like any other human being. I'll always be interested in the al Capone story. And I wish you and your family all the best in the world! I have actually a question. Have you seen Boardwalk Empire ? And how close is the performance of Stephen Graham to your uncle Al , and Domenick Lombardozzi to your grandpa Ralph ? Also Frank Capone was on the Show, what do you know about him ? On the show I really, really loved him and his death scene was so , so sad.
