Mapping your family tree must be fascinating. One thought about families being isolated from each other, isolation is used in abusive relationships to maintain control. Thank you for sharing your experience. I am very happy that you two found each other to create your own family.

My husband was one of nine children, he had four brothers. He grew up on farms in Indiana. You and your brothers’ stories remind me of his stories. I tell him I’m surprised you all survived lol. I grew up close to the desert in Arizona, and my friends and I would make forts with the desert brush. Good times!

Thank you so much for watching! There was definitely some awesome things about having a large family, like always having a ton of brothers to get into mischief with haha. I would say one of the hardest things was not getting to ever really have a close relationship with my Father growing up, because he was so busy managing such a huge household and family.

@@bellesinglemom34 well I used to want multiple wives. I’ve had plenty of offers. But I also want other things in life. So I want one crazy wife who wants like 20 kids 😊 if we wind up anywhere around half of that I’ll be soooo happy 😊 I also have recently become a Christian, among other reasons it’s because I saw myself as worshipping this goal of multiple wives and planning my entire life around it. And I’m not gonna lie I have big goals and it pissed me off thinking so small minded. I know multiple wives would take my focus away from my dreams. I was battling back and forth in my head about which road to go down. When I get resolute about the multiple wives path I could feel it killing my love for my neighbour. That made me feel brutally sad. I know you are not your thoughts but we all have automatic thoughts. It made my brain say things like “I don’t care if other people are enslaved as long as I get what I want.” That scared me to think that way. I choose Jesus. He is the truth, the way and the life ❤️

I have been plotting our family tree and looking at 1800s and 1900s UK census records. As I know my grandmother was one of 10 (an 11th died). Each of my grandparents was one of about 10 siblings although due to disease one poor mother had 10 babies of which only 3 survived to age 21 by about 1910. They tended not to marry until 18 or 20 and to have their last child at about 42 and about 2 years apart so consistent with the video figures really (except no polygamy)

My Father is currently in his mid 80s and my Mother is in her late 50s. My Father and his 1st wife were very close in age and met while in college. I am not sure exactly how old they were when they got married, but they started having children immediately after marriage. They are not allowed to use birth control, so children come quickly after marriage usually. My Mother was the 2nd wife, and married my Father when she was in her early 20s and he was in his mid 40s. My Father has children with his 1st wife that are close in age with my Mother.

Hi! :-) So, your father and his fourth wife didn´t have children together. I guess, that contraception isn´t something being discussed and viewed as important in the FLDS? What makes me question, how diseases are being prevented within these polygamous sexual relationships? I can imagine, that sexuality isn´t something, that is discussed in the church. What confuses me, because the FLDS seems to expect families to birth many new members, and well, sex is the natural way to create new life. Please, feel free to ignore my intimate questions. I understand how some questions might be too personal to be answered on the internet. Still, thank you for your very interesting content! Anna
@GrowingUpinPolygamy
@GrowingUpinPolygamy 2 года назад
My Father's 4th wife was a lot older when she became a part of our family and her children were already adults. There is no contraception allowed and women only stopped having children when they got to an age that they no longer could.
