I wasn't born in the 80s, but I discovered The Raccoons in 2017 and I instantly fell in love with it, and the music is some of the best I've ever listened too!
It's interesting that the first letter 'E' In Evergreen( on Lisa's album cover) is the same font as The Racoons on their TV intro. Also interesting is the album name Evergreen Nights. The Racoons live in Evergreen Forest. Thanks for posting this song:)
I reckon she would have done moderately well on the UK charts with the right marketing., because around the time this album dropped, the show was beginning to catch fire in the UK after moving it from Wednesday Teatime to Saturday Morning.
The 5.35 slot on BBC One was basically for Cartoon and sitcom repeats as a bridge between CBBC and the 6'O Clock news. I'm guessing maybe one of the presenters/production managers of Children's BBC had a word with Michael Grade (BBC controller) or someone equally as high up and figured that it would work better at weekends (where it stayed for the next few years). Funny enough, it was usually shown at 7.30 in Canada on Mondays before being moved to Sundays (Season 2), Wednesdays (Season 4) and eventually Tuesdays (Season 5).
I vividly remember watching The Raccoons religiously every saturday morning in the UK, gosh I miss them days. thankfully I can watch the series on dvd. wait... THERE WAS 5 SEASONS AND I ONLY SAW 2 OF THEM?!!!
@@gothicraver89 Only 2 Seasons were released in the UK on DVD, its entire run has been repeated on the BBC X amount of times until 2002 and was repeated on Gold (when it was UK Gold) from 1993-95 and Boomerang from 2006-08.
This was played on a raccoons episode that featured a guest star raccoon named Stanley. He visited Burt raccoon, gave him a hard time at first, but they eventually got closer.
