I have grown Red Russian Kale. I will tell you it grows great even in snow. I had six inches of snow on the ground for several weeks and this plant did very well. It's an amazing vegetable .
I live in Ohio just planted winter garden couple weeks got a foot of leaves over them till I get straw got potatoes carrots green onions broccoli and some herbs
@@GardenForaged seeds and added fertilizer just miracle grow to get them started it was pretty warm till last couple days but will be back in mid 60s tomorrow already see carrots coming up and potatoes

Great garden! Also think of turnips since they are a great cold weather crop. A friend of mine has planted turnips early September and gave me some to try. Yummy! I will try them for spring.
