Awesome video! I didn’t even consider the browning of the leaves could be due to the plant adapting to its new environment. Do you think water hyacinth would do well in a vase of water without a filter if you changed out the water occasionally? If yes how often would you change out the water? And would you fertilize it?
I think it might work in a vase. When plants are kept in vases, the water tends to get gross, so I would just change it as the water appears to get kind of gross. I would think you would need to fertilize it in some way, but I am not sure how you should do that.
What my mom does is, she keeps it in a huge outside vase and every once in a while she takes the hose and sprays new water into the old water which washes out and mixes with the new water and it works perfectly fine
Do you have an air stone running I have some in a 135 gallon and then starting to die and I don’t know why when I first got them the roots exploded then I switch them to a 125 and they started dying I don’t know why
You could, but you will probably introduce a bunch of aquatic insects into your tank goth at may be harmful. Turtles generally will eat duckweed, and it just kind of just a neutral thing. I am not sure that it is overly beneficial or not beneficial. However, I certainly would not introduce duckweed into my tank if it were from an outside pond because of the insects.
@@DIYReptiles have you ever kissed a dude? Just a reminder, I’m not diagnosing anyone as a boy kisser, just speculating about what could be happening in a situation like this.
