Zoe got mad at Ana when she dated Aaron and practically almost never forgave her even tho the were friends. Then she did worse by being Aaron sidechick while he was dating Rochelle knowing well enough he was cheating and still trying to be friends with Rochelle. She came up trying to act like a Saint and apologize when all. Rochelle wanted was PEACE. Instead Zoe embarrassed her at her job and trying to overcomplicate a situation literally no one cared about. I feel Zoey is a mirror of society. Most people behave with a lack of mindfulness like her. People are in the comments create one persona, but living the opposite 🤣
Rochelle shows how people are in customer service business with all smiles but when someone push their buttons. I don't think I could ever do what she do knowing that the person who has done me wrong is smiling at me like I am a dentist.

I really wish junior had been older and got the spin off because even in black-ish Zoey was annoying. Just hella entitled pretending that she ain't. Also... this is the same girl that had all that to say about her friend before
Junior by far had the best character development. We could have easily dropped a few of these Grownish characters and had a subplot of Junior navigating the real world and making ends meet.

Now Zoey rolls up married to Aaron from a stupid decision, and she’s trying to get Rochelle to forgive her. I've never understood the writing of this show. It's like they're VERY aware of her gaping flaws, inconsistent behaviour and general shitty conduct towards others and just...move on?? Everytime??? What's the reason of pointing out how awfully selfish, self-absorbed and bitchy Zoe is and never developing or changing her character. Genuinely think the writers think stating their awareness is somehow exemption from letting her character grow the entire 4 seasons and however many episodes we've known her for

I ADORE characters that are flawed and not flawed in ways that are cop outs for the writers but rather the characters possess negative traits like greed, anger, idiocy etc. I have absolutely no probLem with flawed characters. I do however, have an issue with this show because Zoe’s flaws are acknowledged and constantly brought up yet there seems to be no change? We, as the audience, are supposed to root for her. Innately, as our main character, she guides us through the story. So she should be the one that we should understand and like the most. Not necessarily because she’s a good person but because she’s interesting. I don’t really particularly mind this storyline because any storyline can be executed well. But this?? This storyline (along with sadly so many others) does not work because it doesn’t DO anything for or to Zoes character. It does NOTHING for her character development because Zoe never grows. They refuse to make her learn from her mistakes and stop being so selfish. There’s a way of consistently keeping a character flawed but continuing to allow them room to be a better person. If we could sympathise with Zoe or see her headspace perhaps I’d be more sympathic. Instead, we have the same washed up storyline of her and Aaron but in the WORST way possible because when they finally admit they love each other...it’s messy and cruel aff. What I’m trying to say is characters having flaws is not what I’m critiquing. My frustration lies in the flaws they give Zoe act out on, which is fine, but her self-absorbed and bratty nature seems to be something she’s completely unaware of or at least unwilling to change from. Ultimately, it’s lazy and I love this show so much but god it frustrates me

That's not how life works sometimes we have to be a little selfish for our own happiness an unfortunately in this situation Rochelle got hurt but it is what it is. He would've left her for zoey anyways sooner or later🤷♀️

Remember when A Different World happened and Denise was supposed to be the MC, but they thought she was so boring they made it about pretty much every other character in every season after 1? That was hilarious.
Most of the comments I see are all abt how bad Zoe is as a character and idk if some people actually understand that she is written like that for a reason. I don’t know why but for me, I like to see a main lead be horrible (not like a villain) but someone who clearly makes mistakes and doesn’t really learn from them. I kinda find it refreshing in my opinion. What do you guys think?
Bruh zoey should have been honest with Rochelle about Aron and how she loves him I love Rochelle but the fact she was being nice to zoey, zoey should have come out clean and tell her how she felt about Aron instead of doing it with him behind her back.
But Zoey wasn't approaching her about the internship. She brought up something completely unrelated to her work to make herself feel better at Rochelle's expense.
Nah Season one of Grown -ish Zoey would have clapped back. The writers really made her weak as the series went on. I wish they would give her backbone back.

Y'all snapping at Zoey again but I don't remember her and Rochelle being Friends. You keep saying she was awful since Black-ish well that's her character and y'all watch her still. Stop hating um sure everyone in the show has some mishaps as well don't keep attacking the same character.
They don't have to be friends, it's a matter of respect. The fact that Zoey knew Rochelle and Aaron were together and still got with him is the problem. Aaron's just as much to blame, but Zoey didn't come up to Rochelle because she wanted to do the right thing by her, Zoey wanted to make herself feel less guilty.

She is actually such a nice character yes she makes mistakes but Vivek literally got expelled for dealing drugs, Jazz lost are chance at the Olympics cause she wasn't focused and would rather play with her boyfriend, Luka lost a chance to work with Joey badass cause he was too shy and prideful, Sky can be unnecessarily rude, Nomi became a single mom and was in a terrible relationship with a lecturer, Aaron straight up cheated on his girlfriend and didn't even do anything until he was practically given an ultimatum and he didn't didn't have the decency to break up like a mature person and Ana can be so annoying and extra. Point is they all have their flaws but people conveniently forget all that when they wanna bash Zoey.
