In the video im feeding them safflower seeds, they are good treats. I make their feed myself, it is a mix of racing pigeon seed (maple peas, soybeans, milo, popcorn) and I add lentils, black oil sunflower seeds, and split green peas. I also give them red grit.
They're so beautiful, I love them!!! Also, this makes me picture pigeon parents looking at their grown up children and saying "it feels like only last month they were babies".
wow....not only are these videos adorable and informative but they're very helpful when used as a drawing reference :D seeing the naked featherless babies in motion is VERY useful for figuring out how to draw pigeon muscles and anatomy. their feathers obscure so much of their anatomy. thank you!!! :3
7:14 WARNING: Those sneezes will kill you... with adorableness. I've heard pigeons sneeze before, it's kinda cute and they look so innocent when they do.
*amazing!!! theyre so chubby & healthy & im obsessed with their muted/pastel coloration! GORGEOUS!!! pigeons are the best pets, ever! especially if hand raised.. theyre intelligent & affectionate. the best characteristics to have when dealing with animals*
We had almost the same , but its dove nearby our window, and as I realized, they never come back unless they have food with them, they instantly feed their babies, then they go as fast as possible to find more food , so it’s very unlikely to find the pigeon near the nest , but you might find it feeding the chicks if you were lucky enough
It's so cool to see that even as chicks, they're already beginning to have this fancy feathers at the back of their heads - just like their mama!:))) Best wishes for you and your birds!☺
just next to my window there are a couple of pigeons building a nest...i'm not sure if i should adopt one when they grow up lol. Maybe i will do that because they would fall and die, the place where the nest is being build is very high :p
@@tobifalola2752 they female just laid 2 eggs 2 days ago, typical stuff, also the father helped her to build the nest....now wait for no one of my neighbors notice that lol, i think they don't like pigeon cuz they raise chickens near, that's why they builded a nest in first place, the food is really close!
Oh gosh. Baby pigeons are just nature's joke, aren't they. They are hillariously ugly. They're like spawns of a horror creature. All their loveliness is deep inside for their first month.
7:38 I find it funny how they're checking absolutely every degree of the view spectrum out . "The hell is tere, oh WTF is there, broooooo the hell is there?" haha
once at my school, there was a pigeon at our window. we all named him jeff. jeff started coming through the girls bathroom window a lot. we were pretty confused. i honestly hated pigeons so i would go to the bathroom on the other side of the school lol. the pigeon was on top of this pillar and just stayed there almost the whole day. at one point, we thought the pigeon may be laying eggs. we would never see the pigeon move but there would be bird poop all over the bathroom and not in the toilet!!! and all my friends new i hated pigeons so they pranked me saying that jeff was flying all over the bathroom once lol. anyways… fast forward. one morning, someone wanted to use our bathroom and they saw baby pigeons!!! they called us to come in so we did. they looked more like chicks than pigeons so i was confused lol. remember that they were on top of the pillar so we couldn’t see them that well. all this time, we were scared for the eggs to fall but none did. we called all of our teachers lol. they actually allowed the boys to enter just to see the pigeons. and then the annoying part, the boys said they have more bathroom stalls than us!!!!! irritating but that’s the end of my long long story :)
Love that deer cameo at 6.15 Also the pidgeons, they are so cute! I've followed your tumblr the whole time they were growing up and I don't regret a moment!
Thank you for posting this it helped me date the age of Phyllis my rescue pigeon(10 days).. he(it's a boy) now almost a year old, flies in and out of the house, a wonderful companion..such amazing birds, so overlooked and unappreciated
My big white pigeon, Clarice, when she had her son, Jonathan, I wanted to check on him; I was saying, "You let me see that baby!" Of course she was angry - instead of pecking at me, her beak opened WIDE, she raised her wing as far as it could go, hitting me with her wing and saying "HAH! " like it was a karate chop! Her baby was BIG, and his parents too.
I’ve first seen a young pigeon only as a 23 years old and my family still doesn’t fully believe me. It was a wonderful sight. He was about a half size of an adult and flew away back to the nest, I presume, so fact, I couldn’t even get a picture.
