“Mark thank you for fixing this watch. This watch really has no value to anyone else. I found this watch while cleaning up and sorting old items that I have. This watch reminds me that hard work is something that will make you successful and give you sense of being and pride. Sometimes we forget this over the years. I mowed yards and did odd jobs for people when I was 14 and through high school. I had a referral to mow the yard for a man named Dutch Struck. He was a no nonsense type of guy and when I told some friends at school. They said do you know who he is and I said not really and they said he is a coach at Hanover College and still didn’t mean anything to me until a few years later. He was someone that told me he would always pay me well if I did great job or he wouldn’t pay me much of anything if i did a poor job. After a month he came out with some lemonade with his wife and we talked and he asked me if I had a watch. I said no sir he said why. I said my family doesn’t have money for things like that and he proceeded to take this watch off his wrist and told me it was mine. I tried to give it back and he said all young men should have a watch. The crystal on the watch got busted during some work for him but I never got it fixed until now. I plan on wearing this watch to remind me of where I came from and to never forget. I worked for that couple for 3 years. I miss those days and really hate to see where the kids today are heading.”
