You can buy Spare in the charity shops, where l live. It was never sold for the full price anywhere in the first place. So the sales numbers were bogus.

You have my respect! I struggled to read even the first few pages before giving up! Three weeks later, I returned the book to the library after trying to read more! Page 10 -not even a peek at any others - I didn't want to vomit - NO WAY could I read another page!!!
His book literally broke a Guinness world record of selling the most books in 24 hours. He sold 1.43 MILLION copies in the United States, Canada and THE UK. That’s not even including sells from the rest of the world. So I highly doubt it’s 50p in any charity shops 😊

It's a well known book publishing con, that the hyped, over abundance number of books like Harry's Waugh! Are delivered to retail and are classed as sold by the publisher, despite minimal copies being sold. Btw they had so many donated, they couldn't give them away in charity shops, ideal as fire lighters apparently.

I think the numbers lied about the book spare. Numbers can be manipulated. You could buy at 50% off. You could buy one get one free etc. etc. I know of no one who read that book. I’m sure a lot of them are in the garbage cans allegedly.

I’ll never be convinced that there isn’t 50 or 60 thousand dollars worth of those books in a Montecito powder room locked away with a few hundred copies of the Bench. 100k would be a small and very strategic investment to make buying his own books causing it to rocket to the best seller list the first couple of days. It’s a well used tactic. It doesn’t hurt anything but the public being tricked into a buying frenzy. How well did the book sell two months on?
I love reading and I belong to two book groups here in the UK and none of us brought that book, either originally or now from the recycling “book dens”. I can’t even find anyone who’s borrowed it from the library in either hard back or audio (well, not that they will admit to).

I suspect that people were curious to read about things happening behind the closed doors. Harry invaded the privacy of the RF like no one before, because he was the member. That was its appeal, imo. I think very few purchased it because they cared about Harry and what he wanted to project to the world, and even fewer purchased it to keep and cherish.

Kevin, I think THAT is it - the publisher realizes there is not further public appetite for any more Harry revelations. There was an initial flurry of interest and sales, which rapidly fizzled, and with that a rapid plummeting of Harry's credibility and likability. Yes, the book sold, but they were toxic sales, at least in terms of Harry's reputation. They are finished, and the publisher knows it.

The Monarch does not have the power to remove Duke & Duchess titles. It takes an act of Parliament to strip most titles & many MPs feel there are more important things to be getting on with. Bob Seely did put forward an amended bill to try and get the ball rolling

Prince William and a PrincessCatherine are so proud of their children and really seem to enjoy bringing them to all these special events. Harry and that woman seem embarrassed by their children.
