My bun looks clearly upset when she sits in a loaf, sometimes it even looks like she's glaring like the bun here. When she's happiest she either stretches long on her belly, her face relaxed and alert, or she's racing around kicking up her heels, or my favorite, the side flop.
I love how passive aggressive bunnies are. They’re so sweet that they still want to be nice but they can’t help but feel overwhelmingly irritated, sometimes. And then when you notice that they’re angry, they just run away and come back after they’ve cooled down. Lol
Literally never met a single passive aggressive rabbit, mine throws full on temper tantrums and throws my shit all over the house with his teeth when he's pissed! Rabbits have attitude for days 😂😂
Our rabbit lives outdoors and his little house cage is always open. But for some reason he hates being outside. He just wants to be inside. So when we let him out and close the house so he can get some much needed exercise he gets rly mad for a minute. Also if we sit outside by his home and talk too loudly he will stomp too lol
Rabbits have to be one of the most passive-aggressive animals when they're mad. They don't hiss or growl really loudly when they get irritated, they just silently glare at you for a few moments and go, *THWOMP*
My bunny growled when she caught a glimpse of her reflection for the first time. She then tried to attack said reflect until she realized she was after a table.
When my rabbit first did this, I was like wtf? I didn't realise this was their way of melting down, I had never seen it before. I know they don't say anything, but it's weirdly human. Like a little kid.
@@franze4it actually could mean either. Like most mammals, bunnies use similar body language with subtle differences to mean different things, like how humans use inflection in speech. Generally, a fear response is actually to freeze or run as a prey species. But if they sense danger, they may thump to alert the rest of their family. Other reasons rabbits thump include annoyance, play, and even just as a call for attention. It's like how when a human says "omg you're so annoying". Depending on tone that could be playful, flirting, or annoyance. Most animals have multiple "tones" in body language. This bunny is just annoyed.
My old bun only thumps when he's displeased, like if he doesn't get his morning treat or something lol. Never does it out of fear. These animals are so silly! But so cute 🥰
My sister owned a rabbit that would release completely human sounding grunts when he was pissed. Mind you he was rescued from a meat farm and was so inbred instead of front paws he had two stumps with a single claw on each that he would legit pounce at you with. I fucking hated that rabbit
That's how I view Skunks, too. Skunks will stamp their front feet and charge forward a foot or so, then slowly scoot backwards. I think it's adorable af, even though I know it's supposed to be an intimidation tactic and a warning lol
Bunnies are so cute when they're grumpy. And not grumpy lol. I wonder if there will ever be "silent" appliances specifically made for pets so they're not disturbed by the noises if there aren't already. They'd probably cost thousands of dollars though.
Haha same, my holland lop throws a temper tantrum every time I have to pick him up. When i put him down, he runs around and thumps about 4 or 5 times lol.
Aladdin: The genie has more power than you'll ever have! Jafar: *Thump* Aladdin: He gave you your power, and he can take it away! Face it Jafar, you're still just second best! Jafar: *THUMP!*
*Makes me miss our boy Bram.* *When he'd get mad he would stamp as well, one time he got mad at my granny, he'd stamp ran over to her book, dropped a little poo and ran off stamping.* 🤣🤣🤣
Our bunny did that too when she was angry xD The funny thing is that sometimes she did it when we stopped petting her, in the instant that you lifted your hand, she would start doing that to state that or you keep petting her, or she would be very angry xD Ok, after two comments saying that they do that because of fear, i researched and found out that bunnies also do that to get attention or to communicate something, not only out of fear. Please, do a better research before misinforming others
My dog growls at us when we stop petting her (she's a very talkative dog so there's a big difference between her 'talking' to us and actually growling from aggression.) Her lips never curl a bit when she's doing it for attention, you just hear a very gravelly "awooo" and then she slams her butt into you
EDIT - JUNE 15th 2023: Hey everyone; it seems this was picked up by the algorithm again - I've been putting off editing this comment but I think it's time now :( We had to make the difficult decision to put Jafar to sleep on the 22nd of October 2022 :( he was 10 years and 7 months old, and he was very healthy until about a month before he passed. 10.5 is very very old for a bunny, and he had virtually no health issues throughout his life - he was very very loved and we like to think we gave him a good and happy life. We miss him immensely but we're so happy that he was with us for so long and that he was in good health until almost the end (and even during his last month he was happy and we don't think he was in pain - his back legs just got too weak and he couldn't move around. We wanted to make sure he wasn't suffering so we had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye). I have some videos from his last day that I'll upload soon; I've been meaning to but it was just too difficult :( RIP Jafar March 2012 - 22 October 2022 Thanks for being our fave little man ------ 1) I know that bunnies thump when they're scared but I genuinely think he was just pissed off - he's a very sassy bunny and always tells me when he doesn't like something. He even headbutted my mum once because she was doing laundry and not petting him! I've seen him scared before (when he met a dog for the first time), and this was more of a "i can't believe you've done this" sort of thump. 2) Jafar doesn't give two shits about the robotic vacuum cleaner now - he's jumped on it a few times and also refuses to get out of the way when it's moving. 3) His name is Jafar because I thought it would be funny to name a cute little bunbun after a disney villain. Thank you all for reaffirming that he is a cute little potato! SECOND UPDATE: I just uploaded another short video of jafar from today :) THIRD UPDATE: We think Jafar is a mini lop (there are 2 types of lop bunnies that look similar - the mini lop and the Holland lop. The mini lop is actually bigger than the Holland lop though so it can get confusing!). He is a light brown/caramel colour. He is a very good boy and is very very loved ^_^
@@H240909 Lops still have a similar body language. Swung forward means intent interest/aggressive ear-horns, excited/happy is held out to the sides, down is moderately relaxed (same as regular up-ears). Ears folded over the back of the shoulders is the same in both kinds of rabbit and is either bothered or relaxed but in a loaf position.
@@H240909 they still have muscles at the base of their ears, so they can angle them a bit, it's less noticeable than stand up ears but it's definitely visible :)
@@Cohozuner all of the bunnies we have, despite being Holland lops, have quite a bit of control over their ears. My floof loaf can move both of his ears like other bunnies
My rabbit does this to great me in the mornings when i go into her shed to feed her and let her out in the garden for the day. I am half way up the garden and she knows i am coming so she thumps. Then i open the door to the shed and she thumps again. I open her cage and she runs out around my feet before thumping a final time and running into the garden. I swear she things she is a dog... once when i had some takeaway chips in the garden and i dropped 1, she ran over like a bolt of lightning and grabbed it and run off. By the time i got to her she had eaten the damn chip lol
He's just thumping cuz something scared him and that's how they warn other bunnies if there's danger. Not cuz he's grumpy.... Look at that face so cute so cute!!🥰🥰
You have no idea. Our bunnies are a bit chunkier and floofier then the bunny in the video and so when they lay down, you can't see their back legs any they turn into floofy loafs. I've actually resorted to calling them floof loafs :)
I have two rabbits, I've only ever heard one of them thump twice. It was when we let the other one out first (separated due to fighting). Other than that, she doesnt thump, just glares 😂😂
I don’t mind the thump. But if my rabbit bites me, she will be sent to a Chinese hotpot restaurant. At first I feel angry and dislike rabbits. But I think they are better pets than dogs, for people who live in small apartments. At least it reduces the number of dog attacks and euthanasia. Dogs are for big houses with back yards or they get anxious and aggressive. My favourite are cats. They are the best pet, and the only problem is their pee and poop is smelly and expensive to clean by buying cat litter. It is also because they are too good that a lot of people get heartbroken and overly attached when they die from the standard liver or kidney disease. Cats could rule the world, but their organs got nerf and their life is shorten. There are a good many animals I don’t like as pets, after I fell in love with cats. But I think any normal pet, is better than people on RU-vid who keep ants or insects as pets. I think I got less angry after I saw the advantage smaller animals like rabbits have, over dogs. Because most people these days just live in small apartments. But dogs are way too popular. So sadly a lot end up thrown away in Animal Shelter, because they do not understand how to take care of dogs.
We had 2 sister where one of them burried the other one in their tunnels and packed the dirt ontop pretending like nothing had happened when we came out looking for the otherone. Oh need I add this happened twice
I HAVE THE SAME HOLLAND LOP. That's her grumpy face & state right there!! She's turned 5 yesterday and extremely grumpy, then I remembered it's her birthday and she's cheerful now. Animals really opened my eyes and never ceases to amaze me
Mr rabbit has always stomped his foot at people. I thought it was just like some nervous twitch it had, but it turns out they are trying to show aggression 😂 although they are still very cute even when they are mad.
Reminds me of the flop-eared i had years ago. She was always cranky and thumped her feet when i came into the room, even growl lol. But she magically got over it when she saw the bag of food and lettuce I had
