Founded in Guadalajara, Mexico, in 1969, the Simec group started its activities by producing steel bars, beams and rebars. Years later, with the acquisition of five more plants in Mexico, SIMEC Group expanded its activities to the United States and Canada, consolidating itself, and today is considered one of the most important special steel mill of North America, producing more than 3 million tons / year and employing around 7,000 employees.
Believing that steel collaborates effectively to the development of all countries, SIMEC Group, in 2011 expanded its operations to Latin America, more precisely to Brazil and began, in São Paulo state, its plan to expand new markets, by the installation of a plant in Pindamonhangaba, followed by 2 other plants: Cariacica-ES and Itaúna-MG.
