Saw your post and somehow though... It'll come soon... Then I noticed I hadn't subscribed! I was riding on the algorithm because I've seen at least a dozen so far from James... Here's to great content creator 🎉
It was great to be able to get hands on with one. I had looked at the website before a few times but had never known of anyone that had one in their collection.
Exactly the same, I like Paneria, but cannot justify it for the amount they cost and the lack of wrist time it would get in rotation. I found a steel case peacemaker on Ebay for the right price, which arrived today. I instantly fell in love with it. I have the same size wrist as you, and agree with everything you say about it, this one will live in my collection forever 🤙
As a diver I suspect that moving but unmarked bezel is so that you can mark it with a permanent marker with a specific dive time and decompression stops or no decompression limits. Its actually a really clever idea. Arguably a single lume pip at zero would have been useful, but from a design point of view it made more sense to keep it clean. If you want a zero, you could always get it engraved and apply a bit of enamel paint to the indent.
James, just don't get near the water with this one. You will go straight to the bottom. It's a big one! My little wrist makes my sweet spot at 38-39 mm. I can dig why you like it, I do too, 2824s are my fave in the movement catagory. A smaller version and I'm in. Weenie wristed watch geeks unite! Thanks James, can you smell that 10,000 sub mark wafting across the Outback?
Just had a look on their website and they're doing a peacemaker bronze watch, eta 2824 auto powered at $699 preorder plus if you sign up to a newsletter another 10% off, nice price for nice watch. A brand I like is echo/neutra I've got a black averau great looking daily watch also do a moon phase version, they do a diver which has some unusual features and looks awesome (had hands on at a show) and they've just released a chrono at just over 1000 pounds which not only looks awesome I think the best value Swiss powered (sellita) chrono on the market. Definitely a brand worth checking out. Cheers James.
I have 2 peacemakers one is bronze and 1 ventro and waiting for the new coming out in the fall. they are fantastic watches quality and time keeping is super.
I have owned three Gruppo Gammas, buying the first one quite a few years ago. They’re great watches, quality manufacture. I also own a couple of Panerai and the GG’s have a similar feel on wrist.
Interesting as always to get to know new brands, thanks James. Speaking of new brands, have you heard of Dufrane watches from Austin, Texas? A micro brand led by Steven, worth your attention.
James, I have a couple Paneri Homages and with an 8 1/2" wrist they fit fine. Much to my surprise I tried a Skmei 9305 - Silver White and I have become very fond of it. I like large watches and have an AVI-8 I like too. As you know the Skmei watches are on the bottom end of the barrel, but just something I thought I would share. Thanks for sharing.
Have you seen the Aquamarine watches from Aussie brand Panzera? IMO they look like a modern take on the Panerai style - I think theyre excellent (I have 3 of them...😉).
Looking at their offerings, if I was going to be nit-picky, the one thing I don't really care for is the font they use for the numbers on the dial. Looks a bit "cartoonish." Reminds me of the Microsoft font named "Comic Sans" and looks very similar to fonts I've seen on low quality budget Chinese watches.
@@WATCHingJames I had to turn the volume up to check if the dialogue was out of sync but no, Grumpo Gamma. They'll never sell you another watch after this James.😂
@@WATCHingJamesshort of the crown guard (which is patented so can’t be copped) it’s more than some inspiration. Even down to the strap buckle. It’s a direct copy. Regardless of quality (movement is meh) The issue is that particularly smaller brands, that have the flexibility to take more chances, need to bring original designs to market vs “hey it’s a Panerai, only cheaper”
The title is grammatically incorrect. It SHOULD read, "How DID I not HEAR of this brand before" Let's try to say away from the, "Had, done, did's" of poor English grammar. It is going down the proverbial toilet so very quickly.
