Yes, for sure, he's from Northern Romania, exactly at the other end of the country, the farthest possible from Serbia 😊 Covaci is quiet a common name in Transilvania, a lot of Romanians bear it (also even more Hungarians) and here it comes from Hungarian "Kovacs", although it's slavic at the origin and (as you know) it means "blacksmith". In Transilvania we have many "magyarised" names under Hungarian administartion. My grand-grandma had her maiden name "Gabor" which is the "magyarised" form of😊 "Gavril", and she was Romanian.
