I was 19 when i had my baby. She literally saved my life. They found a tumor in my spinal cord i wouldve painfully died from it due too it was so large it wouldve snapped my spinal cord. I was paralyzed for two years and my baby and i learned too walk again. Now im 23 my baby girl is 5 and starting kinder. I have a career. 3 back surgeries. And walking again. Bought a new car. Having a child young made me who i am now. and helped me become as successful as i am now. Shes my world. Ladies. If you happen to get pregnant young, a baby will not ruin your life!! Love the video 💕💕💕😘😘😘😘

melanie johnson congratulations!! I also had a baby at 19, then again at 20 and my last at 23. unfortunately, ai lost the first two when I was 23 weeks pregnant. But, my baby girl definitely saved my life. before I had her I was severely depressed and going down a bad path. I am now finishing my bachelor's, and I am going to take the LSAT in Sept to go to law school. having a baby young does not ruin your life, but it isn't easy! I got kicked out, and had to grow up real quick.

I was 19 when my mom died and had to raise my brother and sister (9 & 8) and had 2 jobs and be a mom and dad to them....I'm no longer embarrassed to say I too did not eat just so they had food to eat. There's beauty in the struggle. That's all I have to say.

Teen moms do not get enough credit. My mom had me at 15 years old, and my dad didn't help her out and no one in my family did either, until I got a little older to where I could do some things my self. My 15 year old mom worked full time, went to school full time and put a roof over my head and food on my plate and so much more, and bought her first car on her own when she was 18, while taking care of me…by herself. Teen moms need more recognition and praise❤️🙌

I legit lied to my mother as well when she asked me if I was pregnant. Told me she had a dream. I told her her dream is false. But eventually I admitted the truth. I was 18 years old then. Looking at my daughter who’s now 18 and is still a child in my eyes, I could only imagine how my mom felt and why she reacted the way in which she did. Teen pregnancy ain’t the goal. However, it was the best thing that happened to me to be honest. My daughter saved me from myself and taught me so much.

I haven't even gotten to the end yet; as soon as you got choked up and began thanking your fans for their support I'm like let me drop down in the comments and show this lady some love lol. You come across as a total sweetheart. You are so open and your story offers support to younger women who have had a similar experience with young motherhood. You did it, and you did a good job. You came through. I remember moving in my first place in my mid 20s sitting in my floor bawling because it felt so hard doing that and it was just me so my gosh you're Awesome for getting through your journey. I hope your daughter knows that she was very much worth the struggle and despite her grandmother's initial feelings that she was loved and wanted. God doesn't make any mistakes. Life is definitely hard and I am so sorry to hear other women share stories of disappointing their families when it should be a celebration amongst the village instead. The majority of our people of color have been made to feel negative on new life when we should be embracing it. That is an honor and a blessing to bear fruit to your legacy, not an embarrassment. Not at All. Who's to say life would not have been much worse without your daughter. She helped to make you into who you are Now. And that is beautiful, strong, caring, responsible and determined. I do my best to bring a village mentality to my entire family and I always encourage the same to them with eachother. THAT'S what we have to work on. And Motherhood is not an embarrassment no matter the age. God didn't make it to be that. Anyway you are Wonderful, make up is Dope and all your hard work and fabulous energy has paid off! ❤Congratulations Sis.

Girrrrrrl!!! I want to say that the very first thing i noticed when i watched my very first vid of you with the water color wig tutorial that you are so beautiful! And then another thing i loved about your video is you get right into the tutorial instead of wasting 3-4 min of the time being a chatty Cathy. And lastly you definitely do a step by step instruction so if hypothetically i decide to get my hands into wig making i feel like yaaas i can do it.. and i started binge watching all your vids and came across this heart warming video of the struggles you went through, and its so touching how you are so down to earth and very human in the fact that you dont make your life sound like a fairy tale and that youtube and overnight success made you who you are.. but that you really worked hard and did what you had to raise a child and through that you found success. So insprational. Please keep making more videos and know you are fabulous and a beautiul person doll!

It was so refreshing to see you get a little personal. I'm used to the SLAYAGE so this was nice and different. Very inspiring. I have a 6 month old, I'm currently 21 and I'm also a Jamaican living in Canada. It wasn't and still isn't easy but I'm getting it done.

My life is almost like yours when you were a pregnant teen, I was 17 turning 18 when I was pregnant and I am now 19, I'm in a funk, but believe my baby is not! I get so upset at myself for not feeling like I'm a good mom but as soon as I see my baby come to me, kiss me and play with me, I know my son sees me as the most important person in the world to him, so he keeps me very motivated to do better. But rosh, you're my inspiration ❤️

Loved your story and just hearing about your mom finding out you were pregnant reminds me of my mom so much😁🤣 I have drama too and such a long story and now she lives with me and there are most of the times we both don’t see eye to eye 👁 lol! But I can say your mom and my mom would get along so well ☺️ I’m the oldest of 3 and growing up she always felt she raised us 3alone and now that I’m 41 and they’re separated ~ I know now that it took 2 of them to see why my parents didn’t work out. I applaud you though for working so hard being a single mom, ain’t easy and you do what you gotta do and I wanted to cry 😭 when you said bout you going without food and seeing you now so independent and raising your daughter, she’s lucky to have you as her mom and I can see how much she adores you and how much you mean to her and now you have 2 girls just inspire me more to be independent but just greatful for having my mom to help me with all my kids and my hubby now who’s just been there for me through everything and the fact he accepted me with 4 extra baggage is one of a kind🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽I just love watching your videos and seeing beautiful family like yours keeps me motivated even though sometimes can get emotional 😢because with pandemic 😷 and covid happening it’s hard when I don’t have my older kids with me but hubby always find ways so I can see them😍 also loving your flawless makeup and I just purchased that vanity planet scrubbing thingy and used your code🥰excited to try and start having an Instagram look 👀 😁

You really don't know how you touched me and I want to say thank you !

Love Love Love your story! So much accomplishments you have conquered! I myself got pregnant at 16yrs... It was so very difficult because I suffered from physical, mental and emotional abuse from my kids (I had 3) father for 9years. I did finally find the courage inside of me to leave, to save my kids and myself. It was a very difficult time for me ( my parents didn't or would not help me) but we took it one day at a time and we survived! My grown adult children are awesome, handle their family responsibilities and I'm so proud of them! I enjoy all my grandchildren. But there are times I ask myself "what if"... Thank you for sharing your story! Another example of how strong a woman can be to survive and turn it around for the good! Proud of you!

Hi, I'm a new subbie... I noticed from the beginning that it was very difficult for you to talk about this subject... I just want to say that God allows us to go through tough times but in the end you come out with something great. And your something great was your daughter. She is part of the reason I subscribed. I saw how sweet, happy and goofy she was and I knew you had to be a good person. She is a reflection of all your hard work and it was worth it. you actually had me tearing up throughout it but I think it was important that you shared your story and I'm glad you did. May God continue to bless you and your family. Side note: I knew you had to be from the Caribbean or somewhere in there based on your subtle accent. I just couldn't figure it out, glad that was clarified for me. :)

Watching this in Feb 2019 cuz I just found you on Instagram! Woooow, looking at your IG, I would've NEVER guessed your life story. You look so put together and fabulous! I honestly can't believe your mom would kick you out while pregnant. That's so sad to me cuz she was in your shoes, she should've been empathetic towards you instead of cruel. I know she knew it was gonna be hard but she didn't have to make it harder. Congratulations on all of your success!! Your daughter must be so proud💜

While I can respect that people don't want to put their business out there and privacy is needed on some level, it's so beautiful to hear real life stories and to know that just like the rest of us, beauty gurus have struggles too. I definitely teared up when you did 😢. Please do more videos like this! And I hope when you do visit Jamaica next, you'll have a meet up 🇯🇲❤️

Glad I found this video. My cousin/roommate is 19 now and she hid her pregnancy from everyone except the father, my sister and I. The baby is now 3 weeks old and she has just now decided she is a ready to tell our family she has a baby. Not even her parents know. I'm just a bit scared that our family will be more upset with my sister and I for staying quiet for so long. Hopefully all goes well when she tells everyone, and the understand that we were only trying to support her and honor her wishes.
