As someone who left Georgia to go to college out of state (Alcorn State University 💜💛 c/o ‘21) I want you to make the most out of this experience. I didn’t know anyone on my campus and felt lonely at first, but I met my forever friends and we’re like sister to this day! There are days you’re going to feel like you want to leave and go home but I promise you it’s going to go by so fast and you’re going to look back like “wow I really stuck it out and made it” ! We’re all rooting for you Jashae , these 4 years are going to fly by so fast 💕

Good luck in college! I just graduated from college and if there’s one piece of advice I’d give you, it’s to join orgs and go to events even if you have no one to go with. That’s where you’ll meet people and enjoy your experience more. If y’all got a BSU (black student union) join that for sure. Be careful who you choose as friends and always remember the reason you’re there

I love the college life ! Omg I’ve learned so much , I went to college at 36 yo and I graduated Top of my class Magna Cum Laude with Honors and I was part of all opportunities on the campus and volunteer at my college and other places in the community. Jashae plz keep your grades up , try hard to maintain an A -B average every semester. If you don’t understand something plz ask your Instructor to explain to you , or you can go to your college learning lab and they should have tutors to help You. First of all Keep God 1st and Pray 🙏🏽 everyday all day ! 🙏🏽❤️

My daughter graduated from a small private college in the midwest. Initially it was a bit hard, but she joined various clubs and academic groups, fantastic way to met new people. Being involved truly makes the college experience one to remember. Overall,stay focused on your academic studies. Congratulations!
Awww Jashae, I love this experience for you. Glad you had a good first day. Start your day 15-30minutes earlier just in case. You’ll meet people and come out of your shell more. You’re a smart young lady, you will figure out a good routine and school/life balance. Good luck with your 1st year my daughter starts hers next week as a mama bear Ill say this, please be very vigilant and picky of who your associate with. Don’t worry my daughter is there in the same dorm and doesn’t have many friends there yet either. You guys will make friends and have an exciting college experience soon it takes time. By the way she’s a “gymholic”(loves the gym).
Just get a longer shower curtain (plastic one), and layer it with the white cloth one. Sunscreen goes on before your moisturizer. The first day is usually the introductory session, that's for all classes. Don't forget to network (talk to the young brother with the afro, in Auntie Beedy's vlog 😊).

Live it up, Jashae! The best thing about attending college away from home is experiencing the new environment and people. Don't compare it to Atlanta; embrace it for what it is, and allow yourself to fall in love with how different it is from home. Oh, and meet many people- even the weird ones, lol. Soooo happy you’re getting settled and adjusting… you’re gonna love school! It’ll give you such an amazing sense of self… also get a separate rod to put the inside curtain lower that way your décor curtain doesn’t get nasty with mold.. you will need more curtain loops .

As a college student going on my sophomore year sista the books are expensive, the best way to get them are online. It’s saves money and backpack space. Also never feel as if you can’t go somewhere if you have no one to go with. It’s okay you may make friends there. I’m just as antisocial as you and I definitely regret that sometimes. But always be safe and aware. College is crazy but sometimes lonely but overall an experience.
