YES! Same EXACT experience. Before I even stepped FOOT into the store though? There was a shorter guy in glasses kept saying, “sold out”. Im like uh okay can I take a look inside though? He’s like okay, but sold out. I was like even the things on display, i can’t buy it? He’s like sold out. thats ALLL HE KEPT SAYING!!! Like a robot. I was livid- so freaking rude!!!!!!

I’m also stuck between the green and the yellow 😅 but omg I tried on the navy one too and the shade is so flattering on! The only reason I stopped on the navy was bc I know one day I’ll add a Dior blue oblique bag so that’s double navy lol. Keep me posted when you get yours!! 🤍

The colors really get me 🥹 and it’s sad they no longer hand paint the canvas either but understandable like the price point is wild for what it is.. their canvas card holders are like $700 👽🥸👽

I’ve 3 goyard canvas and one leather totes and yes it’s v v overhyped and the quality is not great .. the stitching came off after I used my tote bag for a few mths

When you bought your bag at casa Loewe was the VAT given back to you right away? And do they use global blue at the boutiques? Wondering if it’s better to buy via department store vs boutiques. Thank you!

Hi! So when I’ve gone to department stores usually they do/have the global blue kiosks, but at the omotesando Loewe I actually just paid the tax free price then and there when you show them your passport!

I was just in Loewe Omotesando yesterday and had a very nice experience. I wanted the old mini puzzle but she didn’t have one in stock. But the staff was very polite.

I have visited all the Goyard stores in Japan and have been to both locations in Tokyo many times. I really think that at the current time, due to the large amount of customers at Goyard, the only way to score a bag you want is arrive at the department store before opening and rush in when it opens to line at Goyard. Otherwise, there will be no inventory later in the day. I visited the same Goyard in Takashimaya last week when the store opened, I was 10th in line. I was able to get what I wanted (it was the only one in that color) and the service was fine. Someone nearly first in line asked for mini Anjou but there wasn’t any. I don’t expect amazing service from Goyard as they are literally slammed with tourists all day when there’s no inventory. I was able to get the mini Anjou last year in Kyoto after trying multiple times on separate days.

It’s definitely a hit or miss, even with Japan’s customer service reputation 🫠 I had a great experience at Celine, the Loewe at Omotesando was meh (I was showing interest in some bags but literally SA’s would see me and then walk away??? So I just left 🤷🏻‍♀️), the Hermes store was also hit or miss (the store greeter SA’s were great, once I got to the floor I wanted though it became a toss up….). I ended up getting a Celine bag because I wanted and also bc the SA was great. Truly crazy how bad CS can be for some of these luxury stores, international or not 👀

Exactly, international or not these are like billion dollar luxury companies and y’all don’t have a training protocol on basic customer service, make it make sense 👽👽 but agreed the service was extremely underwhelming at Loewe in omotesando. I just came back from Japan last Saturday and I was able to get the Goyard camera bag that I had wanted from the Kyoto location. That store was in a department store and is kind of small. I went in on a Wednesday afternoon and there was only one customer in front of me in line, they seem to only allow 2 customers in the store at the same time. I was happy with the service I received from there. I’m glad I was able to get my bag there, otherwise I would had to try going to the 2 locations in Tokyo to try and find it. I’m sorry you had such bad experience in Tokyo, Maggie. I went to a number of other luxury stores in both Tokyo and Kyoto on this trip and I didn’t encounter any rude or snobbish employees. Everyone I encountered were very polite even if they didn’t have the item that I wanted.

I use my *yutulu* as a work bag and have had no issues at all. It’s a comfortable bag, fits a good amount and hadn’t lost its shape. With that being said, I also take care of all my bags and don’t carry a water bottle, pens, keys or anything that can damage the interior.

I was just sweating over whether I should spend time trying to get a Bohome bag in Tokyo when I’m there because my schedule will be tight and can’t afford to wait so long in lines. Thanks for this video! I’m definitely leaning towards not bothering to anymore. Curious, did you try any of the Goyard stores in any of the other cities during your cruise? That’s what I’m also contemplating, if I should go to the ones in Osaka or Kyoto. 😕

I’ve been hearing people say the Kyoto location you have a higher chance of getting what you want! But Tokyo itself basically if you want GM sized totes or other not as popular items that’s what’s available 🥲

Good morning Maggy, love your video as always. If you sought to buy the Mini Anjou in Japan because of the current exchange rate then please ignore this comment; however, my husband and I went to Goyard in Beverly Hills on Memorial Day, and we did not have to wait. We did not even have an appointment. The service was nice. We were there around 1 p.m. There were many Mini Anjou in the store in many colors (I noticed green, blue, yellow and white, all really nice). I almost got one lol, but I ended up buying the Mini Alpin Backpack in Black instead. :)

It's disappointing how bad the service was in Japan. I went to Goyard in HK (both Peninsula Arcade and Pacific Place) and the service was SO GOOD. Barely any lines (1 person in front of me at Peninsula and I walked in at Pacific Place) and they had Artois, St Louis, Mini Anjou but Peninsula was OOS of the Senat keypouch I wanted. They did say they couldn't check stock across stores and Boheme was sold out at both iirc. I went to Pacific Place the next day and they had the keypouch so I got that (limited colours, very popular piece in HK) but they have a lot of the totes in stock in all colours because Goyard is so expensive in HK. I paid a $200 AUD premium for the keypouch compared to Paris and I think +$300 compared to Japan pricing. I think if you went to HK you'd be looking at a +$500 compared to Japan price for totes but you'd be able to get a popular item the Mini Anjou or Artois.

That Goyard experience sounds abysmal! I’m glad I never wasted my time trying to get to one in Japan. I had the same experience at Omotesando, took a while to do the transaction and then they actually charged me the wrong price! They reached out to me a week or so after I got back to the US and ended up wiring me the refund amount. (At least they still have A+ customer service). I mentioned this on another video but they told me Shinjuku loewe gets most of the stock, reference for next time. Issey Miyake stores are always low on stock too. They only restock on the first of the month 😓 their customer service is really nice though!

Loewe pebble dice have recently been added to the EU website! At the moment, the silver one can only be bought on its own, while the gold one also comes as the base charm for dark burgundy and olive personalization straps. I'm sure the US website will be updated shortly, if it hasn't been already. :D

I’m sorry for your experience. I’m from Japan and I’ve been to the store in Isetan but I didn’t have any bad experience. I feel like currently we are facing with over tourism and there are always long waiting lines in those luxury stores. I assume store stuff is so exhausted to deal with so many customers in a different language😢 I hope you’ll have a nice experience next time!

I went to the goyard in Miami at the Bal Harbour Shops. My boyfriend was hoping to get a belt that they had shown on their website. The SA that helped us was not necessarily rude but she wasn't very nice either. She told him that the belts have been discontinued in a tone of voice that was very condescending, as if we should have known that. Why would they have it on the website if it's discontinued? Anyway I ended up getting a mini alpin and he bought a matching card holder but it was easily one of the worst luxury shopping experiences of my life, I'll probably never shop there again. The whole "no cameras" thing is also super weird.

My visit to London Goyard was pleasant. The service was very good. There is no de-tax in UK but overall price is lower than that of US.

I lived in Japan 8 years. Usually they are sensitive about people taking photos. And I would guess in this situation they didn't want people to take a photo of the stock information and post it online.

So sad to hear about this experience 😢 I went to the same location in October towards the end of the day and was able to get what I had wanted. Wasn’t anything popular, but it was the St. Louis GM in orange, but the lady helping was very pleasant and spoke perfect English. There were probably 4 people in front of me, but I can see why they have no stock, it’s such a tiny store! Also you should be able to get the Boheme here easily, I was able to get it walking into the SF store in the sky blue back in July last year.

Oh no I’m so sad you had such a bad experience luxury shopping in Japan! I believe I went to the Shinjuku Isetan one once it opened and there was literally no line. I could just walk into the store w a few ppl and there was no one mending a queue or anything. But perhaps it’s also because whichever bag someone inquired about, the straight up answer was just ‘Sold out’ as well 😂 I’m surprised Loewe took so long for you too! I did visit Miumiu but maybe cos it was a bag it didn’t seemed so long to me.

I’ve never had to wait so long to pay before and just leave in general. It was very abnormal 😅 but next time for sure I’ll try the Shinjuku one and hopefully have better luck!

Great service at Goyard in Beverly Hills and items I was interested in were in stock on Mother’s Day (Artois PM in green) and Memorial Day weekend (Anjou PM in black). They appeared to have many of the mini Anjou colors. ❤

I went to Goyard Taka as well and the treatment was so freaking bad. They were so arrogant and snobbish. Before I could ask them, the answer was “sold out”. So I made up my mind to say yeah I know it’s sold out, but I still want to try the bags. Both me and my husband made that SA climb up and down the ladder, picking all the bags in the store for us to try out , then we left. Served that guy right. Such bad attitude and mannerism given a Japanese.

I'm so sad to hear about your Goyard experience! There's an argument to be made for big cities experiencing fatigue/absorptive capacity issues, but still, this is unacceptable anywhere :( For Loewe, I usually opt for the ones attached to malls (going to Isetan in Shinjuku and Seibu in Ikebukuro is always a pleasant experience!) - they're very helpful with finding stocks and are just very accommodating overall. Options to explore in case you'll spend a bit more time in Tokyo next time :) I hope you had a great time in Hokkaido, though!

I was in Goyard in Shinjuku back in March. Pretty much all the popular items are sold out. However, they were really nice to me. The issue with buying Goyard in Japan is the tax refund. You’re not really getting a 10% tax refund. Goyard will add 10% to your purchase and then you go to claim your tax refund. It’s still cheaper than US but the tax refund is not as good as the other brands.

I’m so sorry for that bad experience. I feel like people in Japan are fed up with the tourists and that line at Goyard is probably full of tourists trying to take advantage of the low yen . I bought my hobo bag at Beverly hill I probably paid too much but at least I was able to actually get something I wanted here.

Sadly customer service in Japan has become pretty bad compared to the past.. Not everywhere of course, but in lots of places☹️ Many SA’s don’t even use 敬語🤦🏻‍♀️ Mikimoto in Tokyo has very low stock as well & for some weird reason they won’t ship stuff from Osaka (which they usually do)

One person pointed out that because of their demand and lines etc they have to be like this or we’d all be waiting for hours so as long as their polite in store but transactional, I guess that’s fine. I think the reason he didnt want you to see the clipboard is bc ppl could snap a pick, post it on socials and then it would lesson foot traffic to the store. Bc even tho ppl are going for specific products they still may buy something else since they are already there. But that is terrible service! I hope they give that individual some constructive feedback.

The Goyard SAs at Beverly Hills are a hit or miss but the last time I went the SA I spoke to was super professional and told me I just need to let him know in advance and he can order me one :)!

what’s hilarious the Japanese will set up an escalator in their malls just to go up or down 10 steps but literally no escalators at subways that causes folks to walk 50 steps up and down
