I agree with everything you have to say about the difference in quality of life in both places. But I think it’s just as important to ACKNOWLEDGE that the two countries are at very different stages of development. Our problems are very different than theirs, our access to resources(per capita income is just $2500,in Western Europe it’s upwards of $25,000) size of the population are so much different than them. Also, let us not discount the fact that those countries were built on back of exploiting African and Asian countries till there was nothing left and it still continues(the cleanliness you talk about is because they ship of their waste to some poor Asian or African country). There is a lot of history(of poverty and poor quality of life) in those countries as well prior to today. There was a long history prior to our 30 years of existence(no country was built in a day. They’ve had longer years of colonialism than we have had independence for) It’s often APPEARS that you don’t have an understanding of these nuances and make some generalisation based on your personal experience(you are well within your rights to do that) and it just rubs people the wrong way. Having said that these are definitely aspirations to work towards. Every country should be able to provide the best to its citizens!
i think everyone has a rough idea of all those exploitations but till how long are we gonna crib about that?? countries like South Korea, China also were largely ruled upon but look at them now they r thriving and how, and the comparison is also about the mindset, behavior of the normal public where nobody is empathetic for the other stranger, r careless of public property huhh anyways the list just goes on but still people just never accept they just defend.

I do not have any issues with her sharing all the wonderful experiences she had in Europe. (Again) She is 100% within her right to criticise India, she is an Indian, if she doesn’t who will. I only take issue with the gross generalisations she sometimes makes without ever mentioning any of the nuances. I just think if she did acknowledge it people would get off her back and not attack her every time she shares her opinions and experiences. So this is something I read recently - eat what you get in the country you are living in when you are there, for eg: you get banana , oranges in India , consume them, and not berries or avocado that is imported - as that’s heavily pumped in with preservatives… at the same time , if you are someone living in west- consume what’s grown there , like berries , corn, rather than going out looking out for “Indian fruits and vegetables ” as that would be imported with lot of preservatives and god knows for how many days it stays …

Having lived in North America for almost 7 years, I agree the quality of life is better here. But when it comes to healthcare and access to doctors for you, your parents or kids, these countries are just not it. They don’t have enough workforce, there are long waiting hours at walk-in clinics, you can’t bypass the system for any urgent care. You pay taxes, they have a “healthcare for all” policy but it comes at a price. I’ve come to appreciate the fact how you can run to a clinic in India or make an appointment with a doctor of your choice (in person or virtually) in no time as and when you need it. I’ve sat in the emergency in Canada for almost 4 hrs with a friend and her 3 year old with constipation and minimal anal bruising and it was not pleasant. There are challenges that one may not realize while visiting as a tourist but the basics that you noticed (sitting in a park or quality of food, or people relaxing) are good for you as long as you’re young and healthy (just my opinion based off my experience) ❤

Vacation is meant to be relax and enjoy. Everyday routine we are hassling always. Thats why we take vacation for a break from hassle and stress. And if we only focus on looks and get tensed about it then waht is the point of taking vacation? Makeup outfits accessories are secondary things on vacation. You need to be realx and enjoy. Nobody know you there nobody care. And even if they do just let them think whatever. You enjoy yourself ❤

I live in Europe in a Scandinavian country,I am from India . You are right on all accounts. But you also witnessed people in summer time. Come back in winter and you will find stressed out people if you ever find people on the streets😅. Talking about taxes ..most people pay 30% base tax ..for all income brackets. Going upto 50% for higher income brackets . So it's a lot more tax people pay in Europe which pays them back. When it comes to parenting, equal parenting is the way to go like you noticed. Dads get full parental leaves too. My husband took 7 months with our kid while I was working . The systems are built to support families with kids.
I totally agree with you Mals, regarding the quality of life being better outside India, and Ive honestly felt that everytime I visited a different county…and I felt the same about wanting some changes in the lovely country I was born in! Just a few good changes can really improve our lives here in India and I think the government should work on it. Also, I’m going to Europe early October along with my sister, and I just can’t wait! Going there after 5 years(I’m 20 now) and we’re gonna visit my cousin and she’s gonna take us around. Hear me a sec. Next time you travel, let it be just about the experience. Not the make up, not the hair and not the outfits. Carry basics light clothes, very minimal makeup or none at all. Dont care about how you look but how you feel when you dont have to dress a certain way, look a certain way. Just take in the new place and be with your baby. Babies are simple. They need food and sleep. Try it. I feel you will love this.
Im a south south african living in Mumbai and i can definitely tell you that southafricans are very warm friendly people aswell and we have the lifestyle you talking about...our only problem is very high crime rate and theft!

I get what you say about lifestyle in Europe, we moved to Austria to give our son great life possible and it's been the best decision of our life. We no longer work for extended hours, we have ample of hours to spend with him everyday, we travel to a new place every weekend. Living the slow life of our dreams without compromising on our career growth.

Living here (in Munich) since the past 5 years, pretty sure the rant would go 10x up when people really start living this life - without any house help. Living in India and getting help left right and center and then ranting on RU-vid is easy, we would really love to see how do some people manage in the EU without the constant support system they currently have back in india.

I’m from Europe. The other day I was walking in the park. There was a lil girl who wanted to go to the washroom and her mum was just sitting on the grass soaking the sun in and guess what ? Her dad took her to the washroom and since men are not allowed in the ladies toilets, he let the girl in and waited outside for her to come out. I Offered help and lil kiddo was happily following my instructions 😅like flushing the toilet, washing and drying hands etc. absolutely loved the smile and the satisfaction on her face. So it’s quite normal here for dads to look after their children.
Just 1 suggestion please take trips as trips and don't compare them to your homeland BOMBAY cause grass is always greener on the other side but I know how Europe (Amsterdam) works because my relatives stay there and I swear darling nobody cares about you there. Maybe infrastructure-wise India is behind but there is no other powerful nation like India and there is no other city like BOMBAY as I have also lived here for 23 years
