I feel like a lot of people are coming to the realization that living in a big city isn’t it. A lot more people are moving to the countryside and I can’t blame them. The peace, the nature, the quiet.
True but I think it just depends on each person and what phase they’re at in life. Lots of younger people getting their career started in their 20s may want to experience life in bigger cities while people who have families and want to settle down may prefer more suburban or rural living.
Good luck on your search!! The FL market is basically the same in terms of the competition, just a bit less expensive. But then you're paying the ultimate price... living in FL 😅
Korean person here! “1004” - the words for 1000 and 4 when combined sounds like the word for “angel” - the brand name pronounced in Korean would sound like “Skin Angel”
If you’re liking LA or California in general, have you considered moving to another city that’s out of LA? I know that’s what a lot of the celebrities do lol
Just being aggressive with the money ; I bought a home in Irvine CA brand new ; no more houses only one felt out scrow; I had my paper ready and I offer them $30 more asking price and I bought it on the spot ; just paid more don’t cheap them down cuz you won’t ever get one ; it’s a different market and different times
We DEFINITELY want more house/real estate stories!! I don’t do Instagram, so I can’t follow along. If you made your Instagram content into RU-vid videos, I guarantee people will watch!!
Not sure where in LA you’re looking, but Glendale and Montrose have great schools. We were in Glendale for a long time before moving to Seattle, and we loved Glendale schools. They even have a language immersion program.
Lifelong austenite here, and our housing market is exactly how you described LA‘s housing market where they are going between 30 and 40,000 over asking price. It’s insane! Going to open houses are fun, but we are staying put for now in our houseeven if I do wish it was a little bigger. Love videos like this because I feel like I’m sitting down chitchatting with my girlfriend. Thanks for being so open and honest about your journey, the struggle is real.
Look at Charter schools. Anyone can apply to them and are often on par with private schools. Honestly, private school in LA is like 35K to 40K a year, really not worth it for K thru 5. Even parochial school is worth it vs. private for elementary school.
I think the debate between public and private school is a major thing here in LA. Especially with couples who *can* afford it. I personally went to public school & my fiancé went to private. The difference was huge, especially those going to a progressive school; where they foster creativity. It's rare you get that in an LAUSD public educational setting besides art class (and they've cut the budget for extracurricular activities in many schools). At the end of the day, most of my friends and clients mostly all agree private school is where most kids here can excel, and in a way "get ahead" from personal connections and more of a one on one teaching setting. My friend is a public school teacher and she does have an assistant, but it's over 30 kids versus half that amount in private school! It's ridiculous.
I’m on my Prego leave and I legit have binge watched about 30-40 of your skincare videos in both of your channels. I felt like I was in an online class all about skincare, I am such a fan! Btw I am 30 years old and popping out my second kid in November, I am dealing with large pores at the very center of my face and sadly it doesn’t look any better when I put makeup on so I’m trying to figure this out.. Trying to figure out my go to skincare and makeup routine. Unfortunately I am dealing with sun damaged skin because I never really wore sunblock in my 20’s. I’m also dry now that I’m 30. My combination skin went away sadly... Anyways you’ve helped me soo much, I just want to thank you for being so amazing! I plan on buying some of your skincare products soon, definitely getting your retinol once I’m done being pregnant haha
you should try the war of the roses method..drive arond the neighborhood you like and leave a note /letter on the house you like. not even on sale. hopefully the old family reads it and this gives them the push to move.
Ugh! LA🙄👀 My husband and I live in LA County. I agree with so many things you said. I hate to leave. Still holding out. We're coming up on 9 years marriage. Talking about the next phase too. 2020 2.0. We'll see what 2022 has to offer. Wishing you the best on your hunt!
it’s crazy everywhere! not just LA. we’re so lucky we were able to get a house we really love at a great price here in vegas. giving you all the good house buying vibes!! 💖🥰🥰
We relocated last December. Everything was done virtually. We sold our home and purchased our new one. Since we are older, we decided we didn’t want to put in any work. Fortunately we were able to find the one. We did lose a house we put a contract on just like you. At the last minute, someone came in at a higher price. It will happen for you. Good luck!
Good luck Susan I love these videos 📹❤ I think if I ever buy a house it will have to be in Riverside or azusa those boring far away places, but it's cheaper out there ,I have a couple of friends who moved out there and they have 5 bedroom houses with pool and stuff but it's kinda far ...anyway Hope you find your dream home Susan 🏡✨🙏💕
Hawaii's real estate market is similar to LA! Prices are similar too. Pay a lot, you could get a mansion somewhere else but you're actually getting something mehhhh 🤦🏻♀️
I grew up in Irvine, one of the fest districts in CA, but I much prefer LA over OC. Especially if you guys have offices in LA. Unfortunately though, south OC has great schools and is for sure cheaper than LA.
Hi Susan! Do you wash your hand AFTER you finish applying your make up? 😁 Cause I can feel all the stickiness of those sunscreen and foundation and it will transfer to everything I touch 😁
Susan! Quick question I apply SPF before doing my makeup. What do you use to top up during the day? A spray SPF over makeup? Powder? Please let me know 😁❤️
I think it might be best to move because if it's such a struggle to buy a house now in LA, imagine how hard it would be for your kids to buy a house when they're grown.
My cousin bought a house in Woodland Hills that he planned to completely renovate. It took almost 3 years to get the needed permits & the blueprints approved etc. Then his fiancé passed away from cancer so he didn’t want the house anymore. He ended up selling it with the blueprints for way over what he paid & invested so it worked out ok for him. He’s still in his townhouse in Westlake Village for now as he hasn’t found anything he likes. I used to live in Valencia & I loved it, the drive to the city isn’t that bad depending on time of day on the freeway. Housing prices are a lot better as well.
We literally just bought a house a month ago and we’ve been through the exact same thing like what we thought we wanted to buy what we thought our budget was going to be we had to stop because it got too getting too emotional and at the end I was just like you know well if it’s meant to be it’s meant to be …..and we ended up finding a perfect home is it had some renovations, I did not like but we’re slowly going to change them and it’s been amazing and it’s been everything I wanted . And it’s in the school district we wanted which was important to me also … good luck
Love you so much Susan! I have watched so many skincare influencers on social media over the pandemic, and honestly, your philosophy is just the most relateble, healthy and fun! Do you think that on your personal channel you could also share what you are wearing? Love your style :) Lots of love!
I can’t figure out that shade L’Oréal tinted moisturizer you are wearing. Amazon link takes me to Light 01 but I’m not convinced that’s what Susan used!!
Columbus, OH market is insane. People are buying houses before seeing it and before it's on the market. We offered on 11 houses before our offer was accepted, all offers were in competition with 11-25 offers each. It was tiring but it was worth it to keep with it instead of waiting and trying again a few months later. We searched from October-December last year and moved in late January. Oh, and all houses were priced fairly but we're selling between 10-20k over asking in the 200-250k range. Houses in expensive and good school districts are selling for 80-100k over asking. I recommend anyone looking for a house have a chunk of change to include in their offers as earnest money.
This was such a nice video to listen to while I was getting ready today. And you know, what you’re saying Susan about the cost of living in Los Angeles is 💯spot in! And it is really one of the reasons why I left that place. I lived there for 15 years and at first it was a lot of fun! But then over the years, I felt like I was just spinning my wheels, always rushing to get from point A to point B, always HAVING to live with a roommate, never being able to get ahead, etc. I met so many wonderful, beautiful people, but I felt like it was time. The universe spoke and I left without regrets. ✌🏼 Wishing you, Arun and the babies all the best in whatever you decide. ❤️
@@eveningstar8581 Hi, I moved to AZ! My childhood best friend lives here and she invited me to move in and start fresh, so I did! Thanks for asking. ☺️
The house market in LA sounds so different than the one in London! Not about prices - London housing is very pricey but the tricks and games are completely different. People here would advertise the highest they think they can get and buyers would lower the price. It obviously depends on where you're buying from. Some prices can't be changed/negotiated.
SUSAN. I’m such a big fan of your azelaic acid formulas! The serum and emulsion are beautiful textures. I know it’s an extremely difficult ingredient to make cosmetically elegant, but I would love to see a toner and oil that includes it as well. My skin can’t get enough of it.
Good luck with your search. I live in NY and the market is insane here too. Recommend that you actually don't work with a realtor and just go directly to the listing agent. Seems like realtors do not want to share commission and would probably give you some key insights on other bids. So you don't bid blindly.
I watched every routine for every skin type several times and they are SO educational and interesting! What would be very helpful are routines for different environments (weather in particular)! Where I live the weather changes drastically every week. Right now is very rainy therefore humid and I find myself more oily then I was when it was scorching hot! My skin is going nuts to say the least! Thank you for all of my your content Susan🙏🏼 You are a lifesaver!! Sending love for you and your family❤️ And don’t loose hope! I have a feeling that the perfect house is right around the corner 🏡 👨👩👧👦
If you move you won’t regret it. I grew up in la moved 5yrs ago and wouldn’t move back. LA has changed so much and it’s only getting worse. Best of luck!
Didn't get the urgency of selling a house while pregnant. Don't understand selling before finding another to buy. If you know there is a supply shortage you know that you can sell yours anytime, why to rush it? The amount of money and opportunity costs that you missed during these 2 years is probably astronomical.
@@SusanYara I think you can take HILOC or whatever it is called for it. Using the house that you have to borrow money for another house. You know you will sell your within a week or two so you can pay off the loan for down payment for the second house.
