This video demonstrates how to use the Gscatter Outliner panel, from adding a scatter system to controlling the way assets appear in the Blender viewport. Download free from the link below. www.graswald3d.com/gscatter
Thanks for making these great libraries available for free. Unfortunately they don't work on Blender 4.1. But I found a solution. You can also install the plug-in in Blender 4.0 and specify the same library save folder in the settings as in Blender 4.1. If you create your scene in 4.0, when you open it in Blender, everything will be visible!
Hi. quick question. I am using Blender 3.5.1 right now. I JUST d/l version 10 and 11 of Gscatter because seems version 10 was 600mb and version 11 was 3mb so I wondered if version 10 had some free plants and version 11 did not but now I don't know what I should do to install version 11 AND have it access all of that data in the data.blend files. Can anyone explain what to do? I thought maybe just copy those data files over into the version 11 zip file and it will work but I guess I always am afraid I'll screw up something so.... anyway, I'm only a month old in Blender and wanted to have some ways to put plants in scenes. Thanks for any help!!!! I guess I could just try installing 11 and see what it does. Or just use 10 and forget about 11? anyway, advice please! thx
@@InterPixelRU-vid I wanted the grass they used to give away but apparently they don't give that away anymore. I think GeoScatter has some free grass assets in it if you get the free version and you can probably just search some modeling sites for "free grass" etc. You can also make your own but that's time consuming. Search for "biome reader blender you prob will find some free grass models at least and a few trees and shrubs.
@@InterPixelRU-vid Since v0.11 all Assets can be downloaded through GScatter after installation, and are stored in your Asset directory. The big file size caused troubles with the Installation of GScatter. and updating such a big file is unnecessary if the assets don't change :) Since v0.11 it features an auto-updater which notifies you and install updates automatically, and downloading a 2mb update instead of a 900mb one is quite the difference!
I downloaded the Graswald Pro assets vol.1 for Blender Cycles from my downloads page on Blender Market. Do I need to mark each Blend file as an asset? Or how do I get these old assets into GScatter?
I bought Graswald Pro some time ago and liked ist. I must admit that I am not happy to not be able to use it in Blender 3.** and have to figure how gscatter works. :-/
Hello. I am using Blender 3.6 and Gscatter-0.10.2, and for some reason my asset browser has way fewer options. Is there a way to get the assets shown in the video ?
Uhm! This looks awesome! But for some reason I downloaded the last version and using Blender 4.0, and it seems to work but I don't see the plus and minus button to add a scatter system of other geometries that are not plant assets or are just external objects as in minute 3:16 with that cube. Is that something that has been removed or am I missing anything?
Hi, the old Assets of Graswald Pro are available to download separately for all previous owners as a ".gscatter"-File (for use with Gscatter) among other file formats and are called "Graswald Library Vol 1" in your downloads. If you struggle to find your downloads, we can help you out, simply send us your invoice at support@graswald3d.com. Note that GraswaldPro and Vol. 1 aren't sold anymore, and thus we additionally unlock the FieldMeadow ecotope for all previous customers on our new WebApp as well.
Hey, when I render I noticed: After using weight paint effect, assets change their position different from viewport (Is this a mistake?) I don't know how to make my render match with viewport every time i use weight paint effect, sometimes i need to know exactly how i will render... hope you guys will reply me soon!
Hi, you most likely have a different level of subdivision on your emitter mesh in viewport compared to render. If the geometry changes so will the scattered plants!
Check the "What's new" Button, First one in the Info panel, it's only supported Up to 4.0 right now. They'll probably waiting to Release an Update since Blender changed how addons Work with 4.2
Blender 4.1 here. Video heavily outdated. Scattering doesn't do anything just adds one instance of the selected object to the scene. Settings don't seem to do anything.
so sick of half assed tutorials... Idk if im doing something wrong or what but I cannot seem to import any assets and you completely leave that part out.
You simply click "Install Asset" and select the .gscatter file you downloaded (free assets are downloaded from within GScatter, just a single click) This is the video about the Outliner specificly, they explain installation and download in it's own video or check the written documentation page.
Check if the version of GScatter you downloaded is compatible with your Blender version, otherwise it will not load. If you still cant install GScatter, try a clean install, by removing GScatter, closing Blender, then restarting Blender and installing the Addon again. All version v0.11and above all have an auto-updater built-in, so you never need to worry about installing it again.
