Gary was the lead singer of Gary Lewis and the Playboys who had a hit with "This Diamond Ring" Jerry's youngest son Joseph who bass referenced sadly is no longer with us.

Viacom had bought Paramount earlier that year and Paramount would take over the distribution of the rugrats tapes and a year later Disney would buy Jumbo Pictures who produced Doug and the latter would become a property of Disney.
