I have exactly this problem atm with my k3 1000. It turned out to be a brake in the eath wire coming of the relay. It was a partail brake, so would also prime, then not prime the fuel pump after the kill switch was turned on. The mechanic from my insurance company said it may be a brake somewhere under the tank, but it wouldnt be something you can find visually. I still dont have mine 100percent sorted, but he wired up the earth directly to the battery on the negative side, and it now starts everytime, but the pump constantly primes, so dont leave the kill swith on without the engine going or it drains the battery. Hope that helps. Cheers.
Thanks for that👍 I think mine might be the 100ohm resistor in the ignition switch, which I recently found out is giving code C42. So I’ll possibly wire a new resistor directly in line, bypassing the one in the ignition and see if that cures it🤔 Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏
It twas me who said the kill switch as it happened to me but on a EFI bike! Bought a new ignition set but that wouldn't start it as it has something to do with the 100ohm resister in the ignition switch which is the anti theft system!
Hi Nev, it was you 🙏 Mine is fuel injected and I’ve just been reading some forums and a guy there mentioned a similar problem and his was cured with a new resistor. So next time I get the fault I’ll have a wiggle with the ignition/ wires and see if it sparks to life🤷♂️
Mmm sodin electrics, Mine also has a fault now , 9 time's out of 10, starting it whilst the side stand is down it won't prime, kick it up and the fuel pump primes, but also when I come to slow down to neautral the gauge wont say N it just had a line..makes me think I've 2 faults, 1st being the side stand switch the gear selector switch.. Guess I shouldn't have used my latched jet wash lol.. Good luck with your fault finding 👍
Nope🤷♂️. It’s very rare it happens now and a quick off/ on with the key or kill switch brings the pump into life, so I’ll live with it until it gets worse. Sorry I couldn’t help, if you find a cure please let me know🫡
Mine doesn’t prime, after i adjusted the idle a few days ago it didn’t like to rev anymore, yesterday it just died out on me when i pulled in in the clutch(the cluster was shuting off after i turned the key and didn’t crank) after a few hours it cranked but didn’t start ( no error code). HELP.
Hi, is the charge system and battery okay🤔. Does it crank fast enough? Are you getting enough fuel? When it didn’t like to rev was it running rough? Have you got a miss fire, loose coil pack or plugs? Did you definitely adjust the idle and not a mixture screw? Is the air filter clean and all hoses and vacuum lines sealed and leak free?
Hi, yeah the F1 light can mean many things. My F1 came with the dealer code C41 or C42 (I think), I don’t know the code for the rad fan but the engine coolant sensor is C15. You need to put the bike in dealer mode and find the code to let you know the fault. Mine has actually cured itself. . . for now🤣 . . .
@jamesparchesky6656 hi, I’m sure code 41 is fuel pump or fuel pump relay. I’d probably check the relay’s connections are all solid and corrosion free and if they are all good change the fuel pump relay. After that I think it’s ecu connections or fuel pump🤷♂️ What problem are you having? Starting issues or poor running?
